THE ROLE: Assistant Designer
This role is ideal for someone early in their fashion career who's eager to learn, support senior designers, and contribute to the full design process-from concept through production. The Assistant Designer will work closely with the Design Director on the development of the line.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the design and development of women's sportswear from concept to production
  • Support in building design boards, sketching flats, and updating tech packs
  • Help organize and maintain design sheets and seasonal line plans
  • Research trends, colors, and materials relevant to the active and sportswear market
  • Source fabrics, trims, and prints from vendors with guidance from the senior design team
  • Assist in sample development by preparing materials and tracking sample progress
  • Set up new styles with updated fabrics and prints for sampling (in our house sample room)
  • Creating cad decks for sales with notes from buyers.
  • Input sample data into asset manager
  • Stay organized with fabric swatches, trims, and internal files

Requirements
  • Minimum 1+ years of fashion industry experience (internships count!) in sportswear
  • Must have experience in cut and sew, wovens, and knits
  • Degree in Fashion Design or related field preferred
  • Basic understanding of garment construction and patterns
  • Proficient in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop; knowledge of Procreate a plus
  • Familiarity with tech packs and PLM systems (Exenta knowledge is a bonus)
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to sketch flats and design concepts digitally
  • Positive attitude, willingness to learn, and a team-first mindset
  • Portfolio required (student or professional work welcome)

The salary range for this full-time role is dependent upon experience between $50,000 -$60,000.
