Job description

Role Overview

Pivot Energy is seeking a Senior Director, Enterprise Applications to build and run the team responsible for our core business systems. This team's initial focus is Salesforce, with scope expanding to Procore, Sage Intacct, ArcGIS, and AlsoEnergy as the function matures. The role owns the roadmap that connects business needs across Strategy, Origination, Revenue Operations, Accounting, Development, and Operations to the capabilities we build and maintain in these three systems.

This is a working leadership role. You will manage a team that expands as the remit of applications increases, while personally owning stakeholder relationships, prioritization, and the transition of work currently held by external contractors into a durable in-house capability. You are the primary point of accountability for whether our core systems serve the way Pivot operates, not just whether tickets get closed.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Own the roadmap and prioritization model across Salesforce, Procore, Sage Intacct, ArcGIS, and AlsoEnergy translating business needs into a sequenced, resourced delivery plan
  • Build and lead the platform team, accountable for capability delivery across all three systems
  • Serve as the primary business stakeholder liaison: run intake, gather and prioritize requirements, and communicate tradeoffs in business terms
  • Partner directly with the VP, Technology &Data on major design decisions; ensure platform standards, governance, and technical debt are actively managed rather than left to accumulate
  • Own the transition plan as work shifts from external contractors to the in-house team, including knowledge transfer and vendor wind-down
  • Define and track team-level KPIs and SLAs for platform reliability, request throughput, and delivery quality
  • Lead the sequencing of platform expansion from Salesforce into Procore and Intacct, coordinating with each system's business owner
  • Manage hiring, onboarding, coaching, and performance for the platform team
  • Report roadmap progress and platform health to the VP, Technology &Data and relevant business stakeholders
  • Other special projects and/or duties as assigned
REQUIRED COMPETENCIES
  • 12+ years in enterprise business systems or applications roles, including 6+ years leading a team
  • Direct experience owning or leading a Salesforce program
  • Proven ability to translate ambiguous business requirements into a sequenced, resourced roadmap
  • Experience managing vendor or contractor relationships, including transitioning work in-house
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills across technical and non-technical audiences
  • People management experience: hiring, coaching, and performance management
PREFERRED COMPETENCIES
  • Experience with at least one additional enterprise system beyond Salesforce (ERP, financial systems, or project management platforms), or a demonstrated ability to ramp quickly on new platforms
  • Direct experience with Procore and/or Sage Intacct
  • Salesforce Administrator or Application Architect certification
  • Experience standing up or scaling a business systems/platform team from a small or informal base
  • Experience in construction, energy, or another asset-intensive industry
  • Agile/Scrum or other structured delivery methodology experience

$195,000 - $210,000 a year

Compensation & Benefits

The estimated base salary range for this position is $195,000- $210,000 depending on relevant experience, along with eligibility for the companyโ€™s substantial bonus plan, with a target bonus of 30% of annual salary (prorated in first year based on start date).

Pivot Energy is dedicated to providing a great work experience for all employees, placing an emphasis on company culture, and a focus on our people. To that end, Pivot offers an outstanding benefits package that includes:

  • Excellent health/dental/vision insurance benefits with up to 100% of premiums covered by the company
  • Four weeks of vacation plus employment milestone bonus vacations
  • Company paid life insurance and short- & long-term disability coverage
  • Generous parental leave
  • 401(k) matching
  • Home Office Setup stipend for new employees
  • Public transit reimbursement
  • PTO for volunteering in the community
  • Charitable donation matching up to $500/year
  • Professional development and educational reimbursements

A complete list of all the benefits Pivot offers may be provided upon request.
