Job description

Position Summary
The Sterile Processing Technician performs duties and processes to provide centralized processing of instruments to provide quality and safe patient care. These duties are executed in such a manner, so as to be cost-effective, productive and efficient.


Core Duties and Responsibilities
โ€ข ย  ย  ย  ย Checks equipment for cleanliness, functional use; inventories and documents the quantity of each instrument per tray/container
โ€ข ย  ย  ย  ย Wraps trays and product for sterilization in accordance with current policies and procedures
โ€ข ย  ย  ย  ย Verifies sterilization procedures on the appropriate form for quality assurance
โ€ข ย  ย  ย  ย Cleans and reprocesses all equipment and OR instruments upon receipt using cleaning agents and chemicals in accordance with MSDS
โ€ข ย  ย  ย  ย Returns equipment to decontamination in a safe and sanitary manner


Minimum Requirements
โ€ข ย  ย  ย  ย SPD Technician Certification: CSPDT or CRCST
โ€ข ย  ย  ย  ย 6 months to 1 year of hands on work experience as a SPD Tech
โ€ข ย  ย  ย  ย Basic Computer Skills
โ€ข ย  ย  ย  ย Ability to Walk/Stand for Extended Periods with the Ability to Lift/Push/Pull
โ€ข ย  ย  ย  ย Strong Organizational/Interpersonal/Communication Skills

Salary Range - $22.27 - $29.99 hourly (based on experience)
