SUMMARY DESCRIPTION: This is a leadership position directly accountable for the effective operation and performance of the manufacturing plant. The Plant Manager ensures that various functions of the operation interact cohesively to meet the overall goals of the corporation. The Plant Manager provides clear direction and leadership to their staff through goal setting and timely feedback. They must maintain a clear focus on the tactical and strategic plans of the facility and ensure they are aligned with corporate goals and objectives. The Plant Manager interfaces with all cross-functional groups and acts as a liaison between the manufacturing plant and other disciplines. They have a fundamental responsibility to ensure product safety and quality as it applies to all the duties listed below:

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Directs the production facility's overall operations.
  • Provides leadership to the plant staff to ensure the various internal and external functions are operating efficiently and cohesively.
  • Sets and implements policies and procedures that guide plant productivity, quality, and cost efficiency.
  • Utilizes operational metrics to analyze productivity and set performance targets to achieve production goals. Ensures that the plant meets or exceeds key operating goals, i.e., safety, quality, and overall equipment effectiveness (OEE).
  • Develops and deploys manufacturing practices focused on quality and continuous improvement.
  • Supports plant safety and security inspections, auditing, and training procedures to meet OSHA, SOX and other required regulations.
  • Collaborates with multi-functional plant teams, including finance, engineering, purchasing, and human resources.
  • Maintains a close working relationship with key customers to ensure superior customer satisfaction.
  • Ensures timely and effective communication with upper management on key issues.
  • Proactively and regularly reviews of all key operating metrics and responds accordingly.
  • Provides Bi-Weekly business update for upper management review.
  • Prepares month end business report for upper management review.
  • Develops the annual plant budget. Ensures the plant meets or exceeds budget requirements.

Required: High School Diploma

Preferred: Bachelor's degree in Business, Operations, or a related field.

EXPERIENCE:

Required: Minimum of 5 years plant management experience
