THE OPPORTUNITY

The Mundy Companies, a leading provider of integrated plant operational services to the fertilizer and agricultural products industry, is hiring an experienced Plant Manager to lead our on-site operations team in Freeport, Texas. In this role, you will be managing the packaging, loading, and logistics operations performed under a long-term services contract at the facility of one of the nation's foremost ammonium sulfate and ammonium sulfate blends distributors.

As Plant Manager, you will be the site's key operational leader, responsible for all daily production, packaging, loading, and logistics activities. You will drive operational excellence by optimizing processes, developing your team, and ensuring the timely delivery of high-quality products, all while upholding the highest standards of safety and environmental compliance.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead and manage all day-to-day production, scheduling, and logistics operations within the facility.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve productivity, reduce waste, and minimize manufacturing costs.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, OSHA safety regulations, and environmental standards.
  • Manage, mentor, and develop a team of supervisors and production staff, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Own budgeting, forecasting, and resource allocation for all operational activities.
  • Partner with Quality Control, Maintenance, and Supply Chain to ensure smooth, efficient workflow across the plant.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and related methodologies.
  • Serve as the site's primary point of contact for corporate leadership, regulatory agencies, and key stakeholders.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 10+ years of practical field experience.
  • 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in operations management within a manufacturing or industrial environment (chemical, petrochemical, agricultural products, or similar).
  • Hands-on experience with automated, high-speed packaging equipment strongly preferred.
  • Strong working knowledge of safety protocols, quality systems, and regulatory compliance in a manufacturing setting.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead large teams, manage complex schedules, and oversee production budgets.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with WMS/ERP systems and modern manufacturing technologies highly desirable.
