Job description

Eaton's Aerospace Business is hiring a Plant Manager for one of their largest facilities in North America. This position will be based in Jackson, MI.
Position Overview:
Reporting directly to the Director of Operations, the Plant Manager will have responsibility for all plant management, including Production, Operational Excellence, Supply Chain, Programs Management, HR, Finance and EHS. This person will set overall policies and procedures to ensure safe, effective manufacturing/trading operations consistent with the Eaton Business System (EBS). They will also lead the plant leadership team to develop plant strategy and tactics to achieve annual profit plan and long-term strategic plan.
The Plant Manager will lead and apply tools and processes of EBS to deliver business results. This person will also Interface with sales and customer service organizations to ensure internal/external customer needs are met. The Plant Manager will maintain a workforce of highly motivated employees with a morale that is conducive to performance being measured at or above minimum acceptable levels, and drive performance to achieve or exceed financial plans and strategic goals.
Essential Functions:
• Sets overall plant policies and procedures to ensure effective operations consistent with the Eaton Business System, Values and Philosophy
• Coordinates and directs through managers, all functions of facility operations, including but not limited to Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality, SCM, OpEx, HR and Finance
• Aligns operational objectives with the overall business objectives to ensure a strategy-focused workforce
• Manages operating performance through the effective use of the Eaton Quality Management System (EQMS) process and structured problem solving
• Directs and mentors Jackson leadership team in the performance of their respective roles and consistent with the Eaton Leadership model
• Fosters an environment which promotes Eaton's goals, encourages continuous improvement, and builds customer relationships
• Drives the compliance to the ethics policy and holds others accountable for ethical conduct
• Develops, controls, and critically reviews results of operation in reference to planned objectives
• Leads and develops a workforce of highly motivated employees, engaging with UAW Local 475 leadership and members to maintain high engagement levels conducive to performance being measured at or above minimum acceptable levels
• Attracts, selects, develops, trains, coaches, appraises and motivates managers and other personnel for key staff positions and the facility
• Represents the company in the local community to enhance its image and reputation
Required Qualifications:
• Minimum 7 years of progressive operations experience or experience in a manufacturing environment
• Minimum 2 years of management/supervisory experience
• Legally authorized to work in the US without company sponsorship
Preferred Qualifications:
• Demonstrated knowledge of current manufacturing, materials/purchasing and quality assurance methods and practices
• Thorough understanding of financial practices and financial statements, including capital equipment analysis, cost accounting, budgeting, project cost analysis, maintenance analysis and organizational techniques
• Ability to drive change and successfully lead and implement these change initiatives
• Demonstrated ability to manage direct reports and build organizational capability
• Strong communication skills and comfort with facilitating teams/groups and working with all levels in the organization
