Job description

About Bobbie

Bobbie makes European-style organic infant formula manufactured end-to-end in the U.S., because we believe every parent deserves to feed their baby with confidence, without judgment and without compromise. No mystery ingredients. No shortcuts. Just clean, thoughtfully made formula that parents can trust.

But Bobbie has never been just a formula company. When the 2022 national infant formula shortage left parents across the country unable to feed their babies, we closed our storefront to new customers rather than leave a single existing family without formula. We went to Washington. We got loud. And we opened our Heath, Ohio manufacturing facility to make sure something like that could never happen again.

That's who we are, and that's what you'd be joining.

Bobbie for Change

Our advocacy arm, Bobbie for Change, exists because making great formula isn't enough if the systems around parenthood are still broken. We fight for paid federal parental leave, push for legislation to prevent future formula shortages, advocate for feeding equity, and support families navigating impossible situations, including donating formula to parents impacted by breast and gynecologic cancers through the Bobbie Breasties program.

We're a company that genuinely believes becoming a parent makes you an activist. The people who work here feel that too.

The Role:

The Weekend Processing Operator is responsible for maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and sanitation within our infant formula manufacturing facility, strictly adhering to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and safety regulations. This role involves detailed cleaning of production and warehousing areas, equipment disassembly, cleaning, reassembly, and proper chemical handling

Shift Schedule:

  • Option 1: Friday, Saturday and Sunday 7:00am - 7:00pm
  • Option 2: Saturday, Sunday, and Monday 7:00am - 7:00pm

Training Period:

  • This position mandates a five-week training period on the first shift, from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday through Friday, after which the employee will transition to their designated weekend shift.

What you will accomplish:

  • Perform detailed cleaning and sanitization of production areas, including floors, walls, and ceilings, according to the Master Sanitation Schedule.
  • Execute wet wash processes, including the tear down, full cleaning (manual and using portable foamers), and reassembly of manufacturing equipment.
  • Perform Clean-In-Place (CIP) procedures on designated equipment.
  • Handle and utilize various cleaning chemicals safely and effectively, following all safety data sheet (SDS) guidelines and personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements.
  • Maintain accurate sanitation records and documentation.
  • Support pre-operational inspections by ensuring all lines and equipment are prepared for production.
  • Report any equipment issues, safety incidents, or compliance concerns to supervision in a timely manner.
  • Adhere to all company procedures, policies, and GMP standards.
  • Actively participate in safety awareness and HSEQ (Health, Safety, Environment, and Quality) training.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Assist with other duties as assigned to support manufacturing operations.

What we would like you to have:

  • Strong commitment to safety and quality.
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions meticulously.
  • Basic math skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
  • Understanding of Food Safety Practices
  • Prior industrial sanitation experience, preferably in a food processing, pharmaceutical, or chemical manufacturing organization, is preferred.
  • Knowledge of FDA regulations, GMPs, HACCP, food allergens, and pest control is a plus.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of standing and lifting cleaning equipment.
  • Comfortable working in cold, wet, or humid conditions.
  • Ability to work at heights and with the use of a ladder.
  • Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds frequently and occasionally up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods (up to 2 hours at a time followed by a 15-minute break) over an entire 8- or 12-hour shift.
  • Ability to climb ladders and stairs while wearing special gowning.
  • Ability to push and pull up to 100 pounds (with assistance of material handling equipment).
  • Ability to perform repetitive tasks, including grasping, lifting, moving, placing, and stacking.

You're inspired by our core values:

  • Be Radical - We are change makers, rule breakers and stigma shakers. We are unapologetically bold and use our megaphone for good.
  • Nurture the Tension - Parenthood is full of healthy tension, and so is building a company. We embrace the unknowns, practice humility and are a culture of learners.
  • Deliver Ounce by Ounce - Our customers have entrusted us to feed their babies. We lose sleep over the details, so they don't have to.
  • Don't Assume - We embrace our unique perspectives, withhold judgment, and find beauty in the paths that brought us all to Bobbie. Our strength is celebrating each other and our collective voice.

Compensation and Benefits:

Compensation

Our hourly rates are based on paying competitively for our size and industry. The hourly rate for this position is $26.00.
