Job Title: Chemical OperatorJob DescriptionThe Chemical Operator follows established formulas and standard operating procedures to manufacture a variety of chemical products. This role operates and monitors process equipment, tending and controlling units and systems that convert raw chemicals into finished products across liquid, reactor, and gas departments. The operator performs in-process testing and adjusts processes as needed to ensure product quality, safety, and consistency.
Responsibilities
- Operate and monitor process equipment to manufacture chemical products according to prescribed formulas and batch sheets.
- Tend and control units and systems that process chemicals into finished liquid, slurry, or dry blend products.
- Work in the liquid department to perform distillation processes to achieve a final liquid product state.
- Collect product samples and perform basic quality control tests, including pH measurements, titrations, and viscosity checks.
- Work in the reactor department handling hazardous materials and strictly follow safety protocols and procedures.
- Perform compounding by adding one chemical to another in the correct sequence and quantities, following batch instructions.
- Work in the gas department with fluoride-based materials to produce slurry and dry blend products.
- Mix products accurately and package finished materials into drums and other designated containers.
- Follow all standard operating procedures (SOPs) for mixing, blending, cooking, and testing chemical products.
- Read, interpret, and operate processes based on batch sheets and written instructions.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in accordance with company and regulatory standards.
- Use required personal protective equipment and follow all safety guidelines when working with chemicals and process equipment.
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors regarding production status, issues, and quality concerns.
Essential Skills- High school diploma or GED.
- At least 1 year of manufacturing experience.
- Ability to reliably report to work and maintain consistent attendance.
- Ability to read and operate processes from batch sheets and written instructions.
- Experience working with mixing, blending, and cooking processes in a production environment.
- Ability to follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) accurately.
- Basic ability to perform and understand simple testing such as pH, titrations, and viscosity checks.
- Strong safety awareness when working with chemicals and process equipment.
Additional Skills & Qualifications- 1 or more years of chemical manufacturing experience (preferred).
- Experience operating chemical process equipment in liquid, reactor, or gas departments.
- Familiarity with compounding processes, including adding chemicals in proper sequence and quantities.
- Comfort working with hazardous materials while following strict safety protocols.
- Ability to perform basic quality control testing and document results.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow detailed batch formulas.

Work Environment
This role is based in a chemical manufacturing facility with two main buildings. One building focuses on gas and dry-side operations, working with fluoride to produce solid and slurry products. The other building focuses on liquid operations, performing processes such as distillation and related liquid chemical production. The environment involves working around chemical processing equipment, mixing and blending systems, and packaging lines for drums and other containers. Safety is a core priority, and all employees must wear safety glasses, steel-toed shoes, and long sleeves and pants while on the production floor. Work is performed in an industrial setting where adherence to safety protocols, SOPs, and proper use of personal protective equipment is essential.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $25.00 - $25.00/hr.
