Job description

SUMMARY
To oversee the daily operation of the Processing area on a shift basis.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
  • Working knowledge of operation of different types of process equipment with varying degrees of automation
  • Comprehend and follow processes control instructions and/or formula recipes and procedures (including completing paperwork)
  • Responsible for quality of products, ensuring that the correct amounts of good quality raw materials are used
  • Working knowledge of all sanitary practices as they pertain to GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) and equipment washouts
  • Coordinate with Production personnel to successfully transfer product to the packaging lines
  • Preparation of raw materials for processing
  • Assist in cleaning, maintaining and inventory of raw material storage areas
  • Fork truck driving for retrieval of raw materials (optional; license required)
  • Monitor the quality and efficiency of the mixing operation
  • Document Processing area and Processing Mixer performance
  • Recommend Personnel decisions (hiring, training, discipline)
  • Maintain a effective communications with Quality Control, Research & Development, Production, Sanitation, Warehousing departments and Corporate Headquarters as needed.
  • Ensure all PMs are completed on all Processing equipment as scheduled in the area assigned by manager.
  • Other duties as assigned

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide work assignments and direction to employees in the Processing Areas as assigned by manager. Under direction of manager provides support to employees in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, training employees, planning, assigning, and directing work, addressing complaints and resolving problems.
