Job description

Position Summary:

Process honey for use in finished goods.

Essential Functions:

This list is not all-inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities as deemed necessary from time to time.

  • Record and monitor honey temperatures, pressures, and clarity.
  • Grade honey samples.
  • Skim foam from settling tanks.
  • Wash down tubs, catwalks, and tanks.
  • Transfer honey from holding tanks to line tanks.
  • Tear down filter presses and/or strainer assemblies to wash and reassemble. Change out dirty filter presses when needed.
  • Prepare bulk line containers (foam tote bins for allergens, wash tote bins, sanitize tote bins, assemble fiber tote bins, label pails, flip and seal drums).
  • Fill, stack, and warehouse honey.
  • Wash and sanitize bulk line tanks and filler.
  • Sanitize systems weekly and always keep the processing area clean.
  • Periodically wash out settling tanks.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Able to learn and carry out processing and sanitizing procedures.
  • Self-motivated and self-directed.
  • Accurate and precise attention to detail.
  • Excellent time management skills; able to prioritize.
  • Assists team members when needed to accomplish team goals.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must have 2+ years of Management experience preferably in processing.
  • Able to work overtime and weekends.
  • Must have strong organizational skills and be able to prioritize.
  • Able to work with other departments within the organization.
  • Good problem-solving skills.

Physical Requirements:

  • Required to be on their feet for entire shift.
  • Required to stand, walk, reach with arms and hands, climb or balance and to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
  • Required to lift 65 pounds on continuous basis.

Description of the Work Environment: This position is part of the Plant – Processing Department and most of the work will take place within the Plant – Processing portion of the facility. This position will come in contact with many other employees within the facility and it is the expectation of the organization that we always maintain an attitude of dignity and respect when interacting with each other.
