Job description

Position Summary

The Warehouse Specialist is responsible for overseeing daily logistics planning, transportation coordination, warehouse material flow, and crosssite shipping/receiving activities to ensure efficient, accurate, and safe movement of materials. This role serves as the primary support role for operations, ensuring all inbound and outbound logistics are processed correctly and on time. The Warehouse Specialist partners heavily with Purchasing, Inventory, Customer Service, Traffic, and Accounts Payable while supporting warehouse teams with issue resolution, workflow accuracy, and overall logistics efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:Logistics Planning & Coordination
  • Lead the planning and coordination of all inbound and outbound shipments.
  • Maintain workflow and ensure timely processing of materials for locations.
  • Create, manage, and troubleshoot deliveries, shipments, and billing in SAP.
  • Coordinate with carriers and schedule freight across trucklines.
  • Resolve freight issues including missing freight, incorrect documentation, and reconsignments.
  • Maintain and update logistics-related spreadsheets, documents, and communication tools.
Inbound Receiving
  • Process slabs and prepare loads for shipment.
  • Receive bulk trucks, CCP material, and raw materials.
  • Wrap and process material and products.
  • Receive glue, powder trucks, boxes, and fiberglass materials.
  • Verify receivers with requestors before system receipt.
  • Work with AP teams to resolve discrepancies.
  • Coordinate with Inventory Analyst for PO accuracy.
Shipping & Outbound Processing
  • Assist with processing outbound loads.
  • Correct inventory discrepancies.
  • Create orders and ensure documentation accuracy.
Purchasing & Administrative Support
  • Order warehouse supplies through SRM.
  • Work with Procurement on POs and vendor coordination.
  • Approve invoices and research discrepancies.
  • Create POs for vendor invoices, warehouse services, and maintenance.
Daily Responsibilities & CrossFunctional Support
  • Participate in Daily Tier 1 meetings and updates.
  • Support Traffic Clerks with expedites, picking, RA processing, and freight coordination.
  • Assist coworkers and resolve logistics, material, and freight issues.
  • Handle material transfers, communication tools, and special logistics tasks.
Skills & Qualifications
  • Strong knowledge of logistics, transportation, and warehouse operations.
  • Effective communication and coordination across departments.
  • High attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with carrier scheduling and material flow systems.
  • Demonstrated crossdepartment collaboration across Purchasing, Customer Service, Inventory, AP, Production, and Warehouse.
  • Experience leading or assisting with crossdepartment training on SAP processes and logistics workflows.
  • Ability to mentor team members and support onboarding/training efforts.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues quickly.
  • Lift truck certification
