Position Title
Assistant Director - Server/Storage Design and Development
Broadmoor Campus
Position Summary / Career Interest:
Supports the Director in managing the information technology infrastructure services to support the goals and objectives of the Health System. Responsibilities are executed with minimal direction, where goals and objectives are established and accomplished within the defined parameters.
A strong manager who is adaptable and has strong cooperative management style. A creative thinker with high energy and enthusiasm, and a team player that promotes positive collaboration amongst all layers of HITS. This individual directly manages the Server and Storage team managers, providing guidance, instilling accountability, driving tasks to completion, steering strategy and developing services. Engages directly with peers to support HITS initiatives and foster growth by maintaining good relationships and a culture of trust. This individual communicates effectively with all layers of UKHS leadership.
Responsibilities and Essential Job Functions
  • Responsibility for the Server and Storage technology strategy.
  • Develop mentorship opportunities for staff.
  • Lead the technical staff responsible for the day-to-day operations required to install and maintain server and storage infrastructure.
  • Work with technical team on implementation of health system cyber security policies and procedures.
  • Partner with all areas of HITS to understand opportunities with technology and applications to streamline workflows.
  • Visionary forecasting of future needs with Server and Storage technology. Responsible for all IT project portfolio related to Server and Storage technology.
  • Work closely with HITS leadership to develop and maintain service level agreements with HITS. Effectively plan and manage the budget for Server and Storage technologies.
  • Facilitate professional development opportunities for team member
  • Forecast budgets and create a three-year rolling technology plan.
  • Proactively plan for renewal of all Server and Storage maintenance agreements, and if necessary, recommend options.
  • Serves as an escalation point for all Server and Storage IT problems, utilizing established incident and problem management processes.
  • Oversee installation standards of hardware replacement and expansion to align with health system technology standards.
  • Responsible for the overall planning, functionality, efficiency and reliability of the health systems Server and Storage infrastructure.
  • Participation in HITS leadership groups and Health System leadership activities.
  • Determine top metrics to better assess the general health of infrastructure.
  • Ensure all Server and Storage incidents are resolved within SLA guidelines.
  • Develop networking policies and procedures.
  • Engineer solutions to existing problems and proactively design infrastructure in anticipation of future needs.
  • Stay informed about trends and issues in Server and Storage security, including current and emerging technologies.
  • Recommend changes Server and Storage architecture based on new or anticipated requirements, better practices, or other relevant reasons. Insistence on quality and neatness of installation, including appropriate labeling and documentation Continually seeks ways to maximize uptime by improving the Server and Storage infrastructure.
  • Must be able to perform the professional, clinical and or technical competencies of the assigned unit or department.
