SYSTEM ADMINISTRATOR II

This role is responsible for procuring, configuring, implementing, and supporting server infrastructure (physical or virtual) and virtual/hosted cloud server solutions.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Manage and maintain the organization's server, workstation, and application infrastructure.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as patching, updates, and backups under supervision
  • Monitor and troubleshoot server and application issues.
  • Participate in development of disaster recovery strategies for the AAA Washington server environment
  • Monitor batch job production operations.
  • Manage Active Directory, Group Policy, and other related Windows services.
  • Develop and maintain PowerShell scripts for automation of routine tasks.
  • Participate in planning and executing system upgrades and migrations.
  • Document technical procedures and processes.
  • Collaborate with other IT teams to provide solutions for complex technical issues.
  • Have an understanding of ITIL change management process and procedures
  • Other duties as assigned by Manager
  • Responsible for development of disaster recovery strategies for the AAA Washington server environment.
  • Responsible for ensuring that key controls defined for server infrastructure are appropriately performed.
  • Responsible for server backup and restore services, including administration and management of the backup systems.
  • Collaborate with application developers and third-party software vendors to ensure provisioned servers meet application specifications and standards.
  • Monitor batch job production operations.
  • Provide input to quotes and invoice reviews prior to approvals.
  • Participate in rotating 24x7 on-call support.
  • Contributes to a positive team dynamic through respectful interactions, positive contributions, and active collaboration to achieve department and organizational goals.
  • Incorporates AAA's vision, mission and values in day-to-day activities and behaviors; guides and motivates others to remain committed to AAA's vision mission and values.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • None

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's Degree (BA) in business, information systems, computer science or related field or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years' experience in server administration or server management
  • 5+ years' experience in server virtualization (VMWare)

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Industry recognized certification preferred

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
  • Valid state Driver's License

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:
  • Knowledge of key trends and strategies, including virtualization; blade server technology, public and private cloud, server monitoring, server security standards.
  • Knowledge of various operating systems, such as Windows Server, RedHat, Linux, VMWare
  • Knowledge of cloud services and hybrid-cloud services
  • Working knowledge of M365, SCCM, Azure Active Directory, Active Directory, Exchange, Endpoint Manager, Defender365, Avaya, Genesys Cloud, VPN, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, BIG-IP, SQL Server, Rubrik and various system monitoring tools such as Solarwinds.
  • Working knowledge of server hardware including, firmware, driver and security patching processes
  • Ability to communicate and engage effectively with a diverse audience, including front line technical staff, non-technical staff & management, and vendors.
  • Skilled in operational and technical ability to manage complex server environments and associated infrastructure.
  • Knowledgeable in M365 Tenants, AWS, Azure
  • Ability to thrive in an environment with competing priorities from multiple stakeholders
  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical reasoning skills
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively

SALARY:
  • Hiring Range: $98,634 - $113,424
  • Opportunity to earn a discretionary bonus based on company performance

WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
The physical environment is typical of a standard office space. It requires the employee to work inside for the duration of work. Must be able to remain in a stationary position, sitting for more than 50% of the time. This position will require occasionally moving about inside the office to access equipment, cabinets, etc. May work around office equipment which could be noisy, such as copiers and fax machines.
