As a Café Server at The Pfister Hotel, you will take orders, serve food and beverages, and ensure each guest receives warm, professional, and attentive service. You will also maintain a clean, organized station while creating an inviting dining experience for every guest.

About The Pfister Hotel:

Built in 1893, The Pfister Hotel has been a Milwaukee icon for nearly 130 years. Recognized for its grand tradition of gracious service and timeless style, The Pfister has proudly held the AAA Four Diamond designation for 46 consecutive years—one of only 11 properties in North America to do so since the program’s inception in 1976.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Check station before, during, and after shift for proper setup and cleanliness.

  • Greet guests in a friendly and courteous manner, explaining specials or promotions.

  • Record guest orders and enter them accurately into the Point of Sale system.

  • Retrieve and deliver food and beverages, ensuring accuracy and timely service.

  • Abide by all State, Federal, and Corporate liquor regulations when serving alcohol.

  • Replenish beverages as needed and check with guests for satisfaction.

  • Market and serve desserts, specialty coffees, or promotional items.

  • Present checks promptly, process payments, and thank guests.

  • Assist bus staff by clearing and resetting tables, including pre-bussing main course dishes.

  • Perform assigned side work such as restocking condiments and supplies.

  • Maintain cleanliness of service areas and follow health standards.

  • Handle cash accurately and maintain self-banking procedures.

  • Interact positively with guests and coworkers, maintaining a professional demeanor.

  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Position Requirements:

  • Prior food and beverage service experience required; hospitality background preferred.

  • Cash handling experience preferred.

  • Ability to maintain service standards, steps of service, and departmental guidelines.

  • Knowledge of food and beverage preparation, service standards, and etiquette.

  • Familiarity with table settings, service ware, and menu items.

  • Must adhere to Local 122 Collective Bargaining Agreement regulations, with the option to obtain union membership after 90 days of employment.
