The Opportunity

A Tool & Die Maker (Repairs) is responsible for maintaining, repairing, and refurbishing precision tools, dies, molds, jigs, and fixtures used in manufacturing.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate conventional or computer controlled machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, grinders to cut, bore, grind, or otherwise shape parts to prescribed dimensions and finishes
  • Fit and assemble parts to make, repair, or modify dies, jigs, gauges, and tools using machine tools and hand tools
  • Operates or performance maintenance on 3D printer
  • Able to program CNC machine centers for "lights out" operation
  • Modifies tool design according to trial or production service data to improve tool life or performance
  • Improve machining methods to reduce costs or improve the quality of existing products
  • Investigate shop production issues requiring engineering input and implement corrective solutions.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years' related experience in manufacturing environment
  • Experience in SolidWorks or other 3D design software
  • Experience in CNC programming software - Trunest and AutoCAD
  • Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, cost management, and other techniques for maximizing effective manufacturing and distribution of goods.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong math, analytical, reasoning, and critical thinking skills
