Job Summary
The regional process safety engineer is responsible for compliance with all PSM and RMP programs across a multi-site manufacturing organization. The position reports to the ABS Group Asset Engineering Manager which reports to the ABS Group Technical Senior Manager.
Job Responsibilities
  • Ensures individual site regulatory compliance with all PSM and RMP standards
  • Provides technical expertise with respect to local and applicable international PSM policies, standards, and best practices across the region
  • Owns PSM Initiatives/Action closure(SAFER) in relation to CAPEX process/projects, etc
  • Support PSM auditing, measure performance and compliance with global policies and standards and applicable regulatory requirements,
  • Develops and drives team performance to assure achievement of all defined PSM and RMP KPIs and metrics
  • Serve as SME for PSM investigations and compliance activities, as assigned
  • Facilitate MOC process (initiation to action closure) at regional/local level
  • Develops and mentors team members by encouraging and supporting technical career advancement

What Matters to SABIC
  • BS/MS Degree in an Engineering discipline.
  • Minimum 6 years PSM experience in a petrochemical or industrial environment is required.
  • Advanced knowledge of Process Safety Management rules and regulations.
  • Proficient knowledge of Process Safety Management rules and regulations
  • Demonstrated experience with Management of Change (MOC) and Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) applications.
  • Familiarity with industrial codes and standards such as Responsible Care, process safety and risk management elements
  • Experience leading continuous improvement initiatives
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills.

Physical Requirements: 50% of time (desk/computer work), 50% of time (standing/walking), normal walking throughout the plant
