We are seeking an Assistant Project Manager to join our team supporting a high-profile life sciences client in Foster City, CA. This is a unique opportunity to become part of a long-term project team working on complex, technically sophisticated facilities in a fast-paced environment. We are looking for an early-career construction professional with a strong MEP foundation who is ready to take the next step in their career and gain valuable experience representing an owner throughout the project lifecycle.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Assist the project management team with various parts of the project such as constructability review, value engineering, pay app reviews, schedule development, FF&E program development and execution.
  • Assist in formulating the design, bid, and project phase of scheduling.
  • Assist in the Addenda and Bid process.
  • Under supervision of Project Manager, conduct pre-bid and job start meetings.
  • Monitor contract compliance and report concerns to Project Manager.
  • Under the supervision of Project Manager, facilitate job site meetings and prepare meeting minutes.
  • Oversee approvals from applicable government agencies are received and documented.
  • Under supervision of Project Manager, conduct close out activities and assist with building occupancy.
  • Prepares field reporting for review by Project Manager.
  • Perform QA/QC process.
  • Review change orders for completeness and conformance to company and client standards.
  • Review RFIs/Submittals for completeness before distribution to design team.
  • Provide basic CPM scheduling and budget management.
  • Review and maintain As Built drawings.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Attendance at work during normal business hours.

Preferred Education and Experience:

Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or another MEP-related engineering discipline.

Experience: 2+ years of experience supporting construction projects, ideally within life sciences, biotech, advanced manufacturing, healthcare, or other technically complex environments.

Strong understanding of MEP systems, construction processes, project documentation, and coordination.

Must be able to work onsite in Foster City, CA.

This range reflects base salary only, and not the total compensation package. Cumming Group reserves the right to pay more or less than the posted range, depending on a candidate's experience, skills, and qualifications, including client requirements.
