Job description

Overview

This role is at Spirit AeroSystems, Inc. a wholly owned subsidiary of The Boeing Company, supporting Spirit’s Commercial Business Units (“Spirit Commercial”). Spirit Commercial designs and builds commercial aerostructures, including for Boeing Commercial Airplanes, one of Boeing’s three business units and the premier manufacturer of commercial jetliners for decades. Spirit Commercial’s core products include fuselages, pylons, nacelles and wing components, with a focus on innovative composite and aluminum manufacturing solutions.

Boeing-Wichita is seeking Entry-level Industrial Engineers to join their team in Wichita, KS.


Responsibilities

Position Responsibilities: 

  • Analyzes and designs sequence of operations and work flow to improve efficiencies in plant and production facilities and equipment layouts; and establishes methods for maximum utilization of production facilities and personnel and optimization of product flow
  • May establish or assist in establishing accident prevention measures and may manage training programs for personnel concerning all phases of production operations
  • Conducts studies pertaining to cost control, cost reduction, inventory control, and production record systems
  • On the basis of these studies, develops and implements optimized product flow
  • May assist facilities engineers in the planning and design of facilities
  • Develops and provides time standards to the shop floor as well as standard work for operations and processes
  • Utilizes analytical skills for capacity analysis, tool and equipment utilization as well as line balancing
  • Performs trend analysis of shop performance measures to identify opportunities for improvements

This position is expected to be 100% onsite.  The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the Wichita, KS location. 


Qualifications

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an ABET accredited course of study in engineering or related discipline or will obtain one by June 30th, 2026

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Aerospace internship experience
  • Aerospace co-op experience
