Job description

SUMMARY:
 
The Process Coordinator is responsible for support of the shift team in the development of systems and processes to improve overall refinery performance including rounds, PM execution, process troubleshooting, etc.   The Process Coordinator reports to the Operations Superintendent.
 
DESCRIPTION:
  • Assure operator and maintenance PMs are executed on schedule and report deviations
  • Owns operator Rounds and Routine Duties calendars.  Reviews for problems and gains input from resources for continuous improvement
  • Reviews and marks procedures for updates/improvements as needed in area
  • Monitors KPVs and advises shift team of actions needed to stay inside KPVs
  • Participates in PHAs
  • Owns process operating envelope for safe, compliant and reliable production
  • Works with Process, Safety and Reliability groups to develop SOLs for area
  • Monitors compliance with SOLs and investigate deviations
  • Review bypassed alarms procedures, bypassed control valves and SIS systems routinely
  • Owner of alarm priority and nuisance alarm management 
  • Owner of assigned incident investigations 
  • Routinely audits area housekeeping and crew safety (procedures, safe work permitting, etc) as set by Superintendent
  • Owner of Environmental and Title V incidents for investigation and correction
  • Owns execution of operating plan in area within defined limits
  • Assures execution of process and water treatment programs
  • Investigates quality issues 
  • Drives yield and energy optimization
  • Backfill for some Reliability Coordinator functions as needed
 
ESSENTIAL ATTRIBUTES (Subjective Requirements):
  • Must exhibit effective team skills 
  • Capable of working with all levels of the organization
  • Must be able to work through multiple tasks simultaneously, prioritizing effectively
  • Must be able to develop and implement systems to train, qualify and develop hourly Operations staff and demonstrate continuous improvement in this discipline
 
POSITION REQUIREMENTS (Education, Experience, and Skill Set):
  • 3-5 Years Refinery Operations or related Experience
  • HG Diploma, GED or Degree in Related Field
  • Good communication, training, mentoring skills required
  • Sound leadership skills
PREFERENCES:
  • Refinery process unit troubleshooting and optimization experience
