Job Description:
DescriptionPosition: Shift Process Engineer (Etch), Day Shift (Sun-Thu)
Etch engineer needed to support GaAs fab in 24x7 production operation environment. Scope of work involve sustaining and improving process in all of the following areas: compound semiconductor etch, dielectric etch, dry strip, wet etch, wet clean, wet strip and lift-off. Etch engineer is expected to implement/improve process control by use of FDC and SPC methods. Engineer is expected to work in team environment to drive improvement in tool capability, to reduce defects, PCM failures, number of held lots and to disposition of held lots in timely manner.
Responsibilities
  • Sustain and improve etch processes.
  • Improve etch process control.
  • Improve tool/process outlier detection by use of FDC and SPC methods.
  • Reduction of held lots and timely disposition of held lots.
  • Responsible for defining and establishing process documentation, including work instructions and process controls.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing teams to support required KPIs, Goals and Objectives.

Required Experience and Skills
  • Bachelor's in science or engineering degree required
  • Process engineering knowledge and hands-on experience
  • Core engineering principles; detailed oriented and metrics driven
  • Must be able to effectively communicate with other teams
  • Team player with strong process understanding and process improvement capabilities
  • Able to quickly troubleshoot and find root cause using methodology such as Six Sigma
  • Ability to good exercise judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action needed to resolve lot issues
  • Be able to work in fast paced production environment

Desired Experience and Skills
  • Minimum 2 years of clean room experience preferred

The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is currently USD $64,400 - $118,200 per year. Starting base pay will depend on relevant experience and skills, training and education, business needs, market demands, the ultimate job duties and requirements, and work location. Skyworks has different base pay ranges for different work locations in the U.S. Benefits include access to healthcare benefits (including a premium-free medical plan option), a 401(k) plan and company match, an employee stock purchase plan, paid time off (including vacation, sick/wellness, parental leave), among others.
