Job description

Business Process Architect
Location: Mississauga, ON
Employment Type: Full-Time, Permanent

About the Opportunity
Our client is a well-established Canadian organization undergoing a significant business transformation focused on improving operational performance, strengthening its processes, and building a more scalable operating model.

As part of this transformation, they are seeking a Business Process Architect to design, implement, govern, and continuously improve the processes that support the organization’s future-state operating model.

This is a strategic, business-facing role that sits at the intersection of operations, technology, and organizational strategy. The successful candidate will work closely with leaders across the organization to translate business objectives into practical, measurable, and sustainable ways of working.

This position is ideal for someone who enjoys solving complex business problems, connecting processes across functions, and turning strategy into operational reality.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain an enterprise-wide process architecture aligned with organizational capabilities and strategic priorities.
  • Design and implement future-state business processes across key value streams, including order management, procurement, inventory, supply chain, and customer service.
  • Own and maintain the organization's process repository and establish a consistent framework for documenting and managing business processes.
  • Identify opportunities to simplify, standardize, automate, and improve processes to enhance efficiency and customer outcomes.
  • Establish process performance measures and use data to identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Partner with leaders across operations, sales, purchasing, finance, supply chain, and other business functions to facilitate process design and improvement initiatives.
  • Lead cross-functional workshops to assess current-state processes, identify gaps, and develop practical future-state solutions.
  • Translate business process requirements into clear functional requirements for ERP, CRM, warehouse, CPQ, and other technology solutions.
  • Collaborate with technology teams and external implementation partners while maintaining ownership of the business process perspective.
  • Develop and implement process governance standards, ownership models, and continuous improvement practices.
  • Coach process owners and business stakeholders on process management, governance, and performance measurement.
  • Support organizational change by helping teams understand, adopt, and sustain new processes and ways of working.
  • Monitor process performance and make recommendations to improve service levels, cycle times, cost efficiency, inventory performance, and overall operational effectiveness.
Qualifications & Experience
  • 7+ years of experience in business process management, process architecture, operational excellence, business transformation, or a related discipline.
  • Strong understanding of how business processes operate across functions within a complex, multi-site or distribution-oriented organization.
  • Experience working with end-to-end supply chain, order-to-cash, procure-to-pay, inventory, or service-related processes.
  • Strong knowledge of Business Process Management (BPM) methodologies and Lean Six Sigma principles.
  • Hands-on experience with business process modelling, including BPMN or similar process modelling standards.
  • Experience developing current-state and future-state process models and translating business capabilities into operational processes.
  • Strong understanding of enterprise architecture concepts and the relationship between business capabilities, processes, technology, and data.
  • Experience working with ERP systems and the ability to understand system functionality, configuration, data structures, and business requirements.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to use data and performance metrics to evaluate process effectiveness.
  • Excellent facilitation and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work effectively with both senior leadership and front-line operational teams.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to simplify complex business and technical concepts for diverse audiences.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead change and influence stakeholders in a cross-functional environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • CBPP, Lean Six Sigma Black Belt, TOGAF, or another relevant professional certification.
  • Experience with enterprise architecture, capability modelling, or process management platforms.
  • Experience with process mining or business process automation technologies.
  • Experience with ERP transformation or implementation projects.
  • Supply chain or operations-related credentials such as APICS/ASCM certification.
  • Previous experience within distribution, wholesale, manufacturing, logistics, industrial products, or another operationally complex environment.
  • Experience working within a multi-location or branch-based organization.
If you are a strategic and hands-on process professional who enjoys connecting business strategy with operational execution, this could be an excellent opportunity to make a significant impact.
