Principal Associate, Process Manager - Hybrid

As a Principal Associate Process Manager on the Enterprise Payments Strategy & Analytics team, you will be part of a highly collaborative, talented team responsible for leveraging data and analysis to identify and propose improvements to address the root cause and create greater value for Enterprise Payments and our customers. In this role, you will support, monitor, report and plan process improvements, redesign initiatives, and make recommendations on changes. You will also collect and analyze data for reporting to support recommendations and manage formal documentation. You will have the opportunity to collaborate on project teams and broader initiatives to represent the business for changes that may impact departmental payment processes.

To be successful in this role, you must have excellent communication skills, strict attention to detail, and the ability to adapt to change quickly. This role requires frequent collaboration with multiple teams across Retail Bank to increase value add activities while ensuring we are mitigating risk to enable the best customer experience.

General Responsibilities

  • Process Optimization & Design: Map and document current business workflows to identify bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and areas for automation. Design and implement modified procedures or technological solutions to streamline operations and reduce risk.

  • Data-Driven Analysis: Gather and analyze data from various sources to highlight trends, evaluate performance metrics, and pinpoint operational gaps.

  • Performance Measurement: Develop and track Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of process changes, making continuous adjustments as new opportunities arise.

  • Stakeholder & Change Management: Act as a central collaborator alongside Business Analysts, Data Analysts, Operations SMEs, and Product Partners to gather requirements. Manage stakeholder expectations, facilitate the rollout of new processes, and effectively communicate improvement plans across all levels of the organization.

Location: West Creek 5 (Richmond, VA) and Center 2 (McLean, VA) this role is hybrid, where you will be expected to spend 3 days per week working in office and the remainder of the week working virtually.

Basic Qualifications

  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent certification

  • At least 4 years of experience in process management, process analysis, project management, or risk management

  • At least 1 year working with cross functional teams

  • At least 2 years of experience using Google Suiteor Microsoft Office

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree or military experience

  • At least 3 years of storytelling and presenting technical ideations to diverse audiences

  • At least 3 years working with cross functional teams

  • At least 3 years of experience using Google Slides

  • At least 5 years of experience in process management, process analysis, project management, or risk management

  • BPM, PMP, Lean, Agile or Six Sigma certification

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.

McLean, VA: $108,900 - $124,300 for Principal Process Manager


Richmond, VA: $98,900 - $112,900 for Principal Process Manager










Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate's offer letter.

This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
