Express Employment Professionals has an opening in Decatur, TN for a Mold Process Manager.

The Mold Process Manager will be responsible for the following, but not limited to:

  • Lead all injection molding process development, optimization, and troubleshooting.
  • Establish and maintain standard process parameters for all production molds.
  • Optimize cycle times while maintaining product quality and machine efficiency.
  • Analyze production data to improve Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).
  • Troubleshoot molding defects including flash, short shots, burn marks, splay, sink, warpage, sink marks, cosmetic defects, and other processing issues.
  • Approve process changes and maintain process documentation.
  • Lead mold startups, validations, and first-piece approvals.
  • Support new mold qualifications and production launches.
  • Monitor scrap and implement corrective actions to improve production efficiency.
  • Utilize scientific molding techniques and continuous improvement initiatives to increase productivity.
  • Develop and maintain standardized setup procedures.
  • Work closely with Quality, Production, Engineering, and Maintenance to resolve manufacturing issues.
  • Analyze process trends and recommend continuous improvements.
  • Ensure molds are properly maintained and production-ready.
  • Coordinate preventive maintenance activities to minimize production interruptions.
  • Prioritize maintenance activities based on production needs.
  • Work with maintenance personnel to resolve equipment failures and reduce downtime.
  • Participate in root cause analysis for equipment failures and recommend corrective actions.
  • Recommend equipment upgrades and capital improvements.
  • Ensure spare parts inventory supports production requirements.
  • Coordinate outside vendors and service providers when necessary.
  • Provide leadership, technical guidance, and training to Process Technicians, Mold Technicians, and Maintenance personnel.
  • Support employee development through coaching and cross-training.
  • Lead Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Reduce downtime, scrap, and rework while improving mold performance and production efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures, and all company safety policies.
  • Maintain compliance with environmental and regulatory requirements.
  • Perform additional maintenance-related duties as needed to support production. This position is primarily focused on mold processing and production efficiency but will assist with maintenance responsibilities when required.

Pay:

  • Starting at $19.00/hour
  • Pay is negotiable based on experience

Schedule:

  • Monday–Friday
  • 7:45 AM – 8:15 PM

Planned Plant Shutdowns:

  • Approximately one week around the July 4th holiday.
  • Approximately two weeks during the Christmas holiday.
  • Shutdown schedules may vary based on annual production demands.

Must have Experience:

  • Minimum of 3–5 years of injection molding experience (Required).
  • Working knowledge of industrial maintenance principles.
  • Experience with process optimization, mold troubleshooting, and continuous improvement.
  • Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
