Job description

Position: Process Engineer/Direct Hire

Location: Westminster, MD - Onsite position

Pay: $85,000/year - $95, 000/year - (Depending on Experience)

Direct Hire | Permanent Position

US Citizenship REQUIRED

Job Responsibilities of the Process Engineer:

  • This role supports the companies Design Engineers as well as production support.
  • Ensures processes are manufacturable with high quality and provide appropriate documentation and tools to the Operations team.
  • Implements continuous process improvement projects focusing on cost reduction or output increase.
  • Create and maintain work instructions and standard operating procedures.
  • Works with Operations to train shopfloor employees.
  • Works with facilities and maintenance team to identify and implement equipment upgrades.
  • Troubleshoots, solves and documents process, performance and equipment issues.
  • Conducts RCCA investigations for manufacturing/process issues.
  • Works with Battery Design and Mechanical Engineering to transfer new designs from development to production.
  • Monitors key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Supports the proposed battery design process to ensure manufacturability.
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Education: B.S. in Engineering in a field related to the Process being supported, typically Chemical, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering
  • Experience: 3-5 years in engineering or manufacturing environment.
  • Six Sigma Certification and practical use a plus

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSA’s):

  • Effective written and verbal communication.
  • Ability to collaborate with others.
  • Excellent prioritization and time management skills.
  • Proficient in solving engineering problems through analysis, computational modelling, and building/testing of prototypes.
  • Experience with PLC or similar equipment programming
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • CAD modelling a plus
