Job description

Job Title: Process Engineer
Job Summary: The primary responsibilities of this position are new materials development (60%), automation development (10%), process improvement and trouble shooting (25%), and documentation compilation and update (5%). Requires strong engineering background, management and communication skills.
Job Functions:
Develop and test new materials including but not limit to ink, silver paste, screen, cutting wheel, drill etc.
1. Compile materials process requirements according to internal standard and customer standard
2. Ask for potential materials supplier list from purchasing, contact several most promising suppliers for more technical details
3. Ask supplier come onsite with new material samples. Test material samples in lab first. If it pass the lab test, take them to do production test. Complete process
experiment report after each test
4. Make comparison between these materials from US supplier and the materials that are utilized in Chinese plant. Choose the best materials for Fuyao Glass America by the performance and cost
5. Compile documentation for using and storing materials and provide training to plant
6. Track using condition of materials during production. Improve continuously to make materials better
Manage automation projects such as trademark quality inspection, drilling hole inspection, transparency inspection and component assembly inspection, primer inspection and laser marking system
1. Compile process requirements for automation system according to internal standard and customer standard
2. Ask for potential automation supplier list from purchasing, contact several most promising suppliers for more technical details
3. Ask supplier come onsite to evaluate project. Compare all proposals and designs from different supplier
4. Discuss with project team to double check all detail requirements before purchasing issue PO
5. Make project plan and track project progress
6. Compile documentation for automation system and provide training to plant
Organize process improvement and do troubleshooting for process issues
1. Organize the production process team to improve the production process for satisfying the Fuyao internal standard and customer standard in both quality and quantity
2. Facilitate the process meetings to discuss the technical issues that occur during production. Communicate and work with the related process engineers and production team to solve the technical issues. For example: bad screen printing quality due to electrostatic, raw glass corrosion
Compile and update documents including but not limit to work instruction, process requirement, process report and new materials standard
1. Compile work instruction for new production lines or new products. Update work instruction when current process change or new process is added
into production
2. Determine process requirements for materials, automation and other projects
3. Complete process report after new materials test, automation evaluation, new process verification etc.
4. Compile materials standard to make sure exist and new materials meet internal standard and customer standard
Qualifications
  • Languages spoken commonly in the workplace are English and Mandarin. Ability to read, understand and comprehend documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Ability to speak effectively and interact with other team members, engineers, leadership and customers
  • More than one years of experience in the related production processes and technologies
  • Bachelor's degree or above (those with production experience are preferred)
  • The employee is regularly required to stand for long periods. Duties include turning at the waist, reaching, bending, squatting and
    lifting up to 50 pounds. Ability to pass static strength requirements (grip)
  • Clarity of vision at 20 inches or less. Use this factor when special and minute accuracy is demanded
  • Clarity of vision at 20 feet or more. Use this factor when visual efficiency in terms of far acuity is required in day and night/dark conditions
  • Three-dimensional vision. Ability to judge distances and spatial relationships so as to see objects where and as they actually are
  • Ability to identify and distinguish colors
  • Observing an area that can be seen up and down or to right or left while eyes are fixed on a given point
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate
  • Safety requirements for this position are safety glasses, hearing protection and steel-toed work boots
