We seek a dynamic, visionary, high-energy, hands-on, and results-driven Executive Vice President of People & Culture to build the leadership capability, organizational culture, and talent engine that will fuel Hotel Equities' next stage of growth.

The Executive Vice President of People & Culture will serve as a key member of the Executive Leadership Team and report directly to the President & COO. This executive will be responsible for developing and executing an enterprise-wide people strategy that aligns with our business objectives while strengthening leadership capability, organizational effectiveness, and long-term enterprise value. Salary and incentive compensation will be commensurate with experience.

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to the CEO, C-Suite, and Executive Leadership Team on organizational strategy, leadership effectiveness, executive succession, workforce planning, organizational design, and culture.
  • Partner with executive leadership to ensure our people strategy directly supports EBITDA growth, owner satisfaction, associate engagement, and long-term enterprise value.
  • Develop and execute an enterprise-wide People & Culture strategy that enables Hotel Equities to attract, develop, engage, and retain the industry's best talent.
  • Build a high-performance culture rooted in servant leadership, accountability, operational excellence, and our core values.
  • Lead organizational design initiatives that position the company for continued growth through acquisitions, new hotel development, third-party management opportunities, and strategic expansion.
  • Develop the people infrastructure necessary to successfully integrate acquisitions, hotel transitions, and organizational growth.
  • Develop an industry-leading recruitment strategy that positions Hotel Equities as the employer of choice within the hospitality industry.
  • Lead executive recruiting and succession planning for all Vice President, Regional Director, General Manager, and corporate leadership positions.
  • Build enterprise leadership capability through succession planning, executive development, coaching, organizational design, performance management, and career progression.
  • Create robust talent pipelines across hotel operations, commercial services, finance, technology, and corporate functions to support future organizational growth.
  • Establish measurable talent acquisition and retention strategies that improve leadership quality while reducing turnover throughout the organization.
Culture & Associate Experience
  • Champion an exceptional associate experience from recruitment through retirement.
  • Lead enterprise initiatives focused on associate engagement, recognition, communication, culture, and leadership development.
  • Drive organizational change initiatives that strengthen collaboration, innovation, accountability, and operational excellence across the enterprise.

People Operations
  • Provide executive oversight for all People functions, including Talent Acquisition, Learning & Development, Payroll, HR Operations, HRIS, Compensation & Benefits, Employee Relations, Compliance, Organizational Development, and Total Rewards.
  • Ensure timely, accurate, and compliant payroll administration across the enterprise.
  • Oversee compensation, benefits, and total rewards strategies that support retention while maintaining financial discipline.
  • Lead employee relations, policy development, compliance, investigations, and workplace practices consistent with Hotel Equities' values and legal requirements.
  • Leverage HR technology, workforce analytics, and reporting to improve decision-making and operational effectiveness.
  • Partner closely with Operations, Commercial Services, Finance, Legal, and Business Development to align people strategies with enterprise business objectives.
  • Partner with ownership groups during hotel transitions, acquisitions, annual business planning, and operational reviews to ensure our people strategies support owner objectives and operational excellence.
  • Build strong relationships with ownership groups, brand partners, and external stakeholders while representing Hotel Equities as an employer of choice.
Success in the First 24 Months

To Be Considered for This Role
  • Be a Servant Leader.
  • Possess 15+ years of progressive executive Human Resources leadership experience, including significant multi-unit hospitality experience.
  • Demonstrate success leading enterprise talent acquisition, executive recruiting, leadership development, succession planning, organizational design, and culture initiatives.
  • Have extensive experience supporting large, geographically dispersed workforces across branded and independent hotels.
  • Possess demonstrated success partnering with CEOs, executive leadership teams, ownership groups, and boards on strategic business initiatives.
  • Have experience leading organizational transformation within a high-growth hospitality environment.
  • Possess exceptional executive presence, communication, coaching, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Demonstrate sound judgment, strong business acumen, and the ability to influence at every level of the organization.
  • Be willing to travel up to 40%.
  • Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree and/or SHRM-SCP, SPHR, or equivalent executive HR certification preferred.
