Join Our Dynamic Team
The Systems Engineering Manager is responsible for the overall design, implementation, and management of corporate compute and storage solutions, virtualized server and desktop environments, and local area network management. This includes effective provisioning, installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of associated solutions at all corporate data centers, back office locations, and branch locations. The Systems Engineering Manager will also be responsible for managing and assisting with resolution of trouble tickets received at both the client/technical support and escalated system engineering support queue levels.
This position will be responsible for managing the Systems Engineering team on a day-to-day basis. Provide direction and employee educational opportunities to promote engagement and development. Provide regular coaching and ongoing feedback, including day-to-day direction as well as establishing and managing team projects and goals. Ensure timely delivery of formal performance evaluations and make sure that policies and procedures are created and reviewed on a regular basis. This individual will participate in technical research and development to enable continuing innovation within the existing infrastructure, as well as adhering to corporate change control process documentation and incident response processes, and is included in on-call responsibilities during off-hours support.
Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree from a four year college/university, or ten years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. At least 5 years of prior personnel management experience is required.
  • This position requires advanced knowledge of Microsoft Windows and Active Directory. This includes extensive knowledge of Windows server and client operating systems as well as supported hardware requirements. This position also requires a working knowledge of the Microsoft 365 product suite and deployment scenarios. The position requires management experience with Citrix-based virtual desktop solutions, VMWare virtualization platforms, Veeam and Zerto replication and backup toolsets, and Microsoft Exchange. Also in-depth experience with server host and storage area network products as well as associated hardware and network peripherals.
  • Must possess a working knowledge of system security concepts, directory services, and networking protocols.
  • MCSE, Azure, and VCP certifications preferred but not required.
  • Strong personnel management experience, organizational skills and ability to coordinate complex activities and prioritize conflicting demands. Must have excellent analytical skills. Must have a thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office. Demonstrated telephone and interpersonal skills. Provide exceptional member service and tactfully manage business relationships, internally and externally. Demonstrated professionalism, diplomacy, composure and flexibility. Ability to appropriately handle confidential and sensitive information.
  • Effective verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills. Proven ability to present findings and conclusions clearly and concisely to all levels of employees, management and/or vendors. Knowledge of NCUA and FFIEC regulations, GLBA, PCI and other information security requirements and framework knowledge of the financial services industry is helpful but not required
