Are you ready to lead a world-class team building an industry defining, fast accounting engine with global market coverage? If so, we invite you to join our innovative team.

In this role, you will foster a dynamic and innovative work environment, utilizing cutting-edge technologies. You will guide your team through complex projects, encouraging innovation and continuous learning. If you're passionate about developing a high-performing team to achieve our challenging goals in a fast-paced setting, we encourage you to apply to join our Portfolio Accounting team.

As a leader at Ridgeline you will also help preserve our culture and influence the trajectory of an ambitious tech startup. Our team aims to leave a legacy in an investment management industry primed for change.

You must be work authorized in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship.

The impact you will have:

  • Be involved in the entire software development process, from requirement gathering and design reviews through the implementation of new product features, ensuring the team is focused on the highest-impact work and delivering on time with high quality.
  • Promote a fast paced environment through continuous improvement, agile, and kanban development methodologies, proactively removing roadblocks and evolving processes so multiple teams can deliver effectively.
  • Regularly contribute to our codebase and actively participate in reviews for the team's technical designs and code, setting high technical standards and guiding architectural decisions for Portfolio Accounting.
  • Help engineers develop new skills and advance their career through coaching, with a particular focus on growing senior ICs and emerging leaders.
  • Engage in performance conversations and help align business objectives and career goals, using clear expectations, data, and feedback to recognize high performance and address performance gaps.
  • Coach, mentor, and inspire teams of engineers that are responsible for delivering high performing, secure enterprise applications, designing team structures and roles that scale as Ridgeline and our customers grow.
  • Impact a developing tech stack based on modern front-end frameworks and cost-efficient utilization of AWS back-end services, balancing long-term platform health with near-term delivery needs.
  • Think creatively, own problems, seek solutions, and communicate clearly along the way, influencing decisions across functions and representing Portfolio Accounting in broader company discussions.
  • Contribute to a collaborative environment deeply rooted in learning, teaching, and transparency, modeling cross-team collaboration and reinforcing The Ridgeline Way in how your teams operate.
  • Build a diverse team while fostering a collaborative and inclusive environment, intentionally hiring, developing, and promoting talent in line with Ridgeline's DE&I commitments.
  • Ensure close relationships in a multi-location organization, connecting our product and engineering teams, and aligning priorities and dependencies across those teams.
  • Promote a culture of feedback that encourages your team and peers to be candid with each other and you, creating the conditions for continuous improvement and sustained high performance.
  • Work closely with several other teams and our customers to deliver reliable, fast, and accurate Portfolio Accounting that their products and businesses depend on, owning the roadmap and outcomes for your area and clearly communicating progress, risks, and tradeoffs to senior stakeholders.

What we look for:

  • 8+ years in a hands-on software engineering management position or similar function, with a history of architecting and designing new products and technologies in the cloud, including leading multiple teams or a significant functional area.
  • Experience working in the Accounting, Finance, or Fintech industries, with the ability to translate complex domain problems into clear technical strategies.
  • Proven ability to own and deliver complex, cross-team initiatives in a fast-paced environment, with the desire to forge a path when requirements are dynamic and evolving.
  • Clear and crisp communicator, with the ability to influence and align senior leaders, peers, and cross-functional partners, and to translate strategy into actionable plans for your teams.
  • A degree in Computer Science, Information Science, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and grow other leaders (engineering managers and senior ICs), including talent planning, coaching, and performance management.
  • Strong knowledge of data structures, algorithms, distributed systems, and architectural patterns, and the ability to guide technical direction at the system and platform level.
  • Ability to focus on short-term deliverables while maintaining a big-picture perspective on functional and company-level goals.
  • An aptitude for structured problem-solving, using data and clear success metrics to drive decisions and tradeoffs.
  • Track record of driving innovation in how teams work (e.g., process improvements, automation, or responsible use of AI) to unlock smarter, faster delivery.
