MIM Operations Manager - Metal Injection Molding

Great Bay Staffing Group

Rockford, IL • On-site

Full-time

Posted 24 days ago

Job description

$145,000–$165,000 + 20% Annual Bonus

Rockford, Illinois

The Opportunity

This is a build-it role, not a maintain-it role. The company is standing up Metal Injection Molding as a new growth area, and you'd be the person who owns that expansion from a manufacturing operations standpoint. You'd report directly to the Director of Engineering, sit at the intersection of operations and engineering, and lead a team that includes a Senior Process Engineer, with the Metallurgist as a close working partner on every project.

If you've spent years running MIM processes for someone else's roadmap, this is a chance to shape one.

Why You'll Love This Role

You'll own the full MIM production picture, from feedstock through molding, debinding, and sintering, with direct accountability for quality, delivery, and cost. This isn't a narrow production supervisor seat. You're the technical authority on MIM within the organization, which means your judgment on process decisions carries weight.

The 20% annual bonus is built into the comp structure, not a maybe. And because this is a growth initiative for the company, the trajectory of the role should grow alongside the business.

What Your Week Looks Like
  • Directing day-to-day MIM production operations, keeping execution aligned with customer quality, delivery, and cost commitments
  • Leading and developing a team of technical experts, including the Senior Process Engineer
  • Partnering with the Metallurgist and with customers directly to drive project execution
  • Applying deep MIM process expertise across feedstock, molding, debinding, and sintering to solve production issues before they become customer issues
  • Building the operational foundation that positions the company to support current and future business growth
What We're Looking For
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field or related discipline
  • 7+ years of experience with strong, hands-on expertise in MIM processing: feedstock, molding, debinding, and sintering
  • Demonstrated leadership experience with technical personnel
  • Solid understanding of metallurgical and materials principles
  • Willingness to relocate to the Rockford, Illinois area (relocation assistance provided)

This is an on-site role, and the company does not sponsor work visas for this position.

Why Candidates Say Yes
  • Ground-floor ownership of a new growth platform, not inherited legacy processes
  • Direct line to the Director of Engineering, with real influence over how MIM operations scale
  • A team already in place, including a Senior Process Engineer, so you're building on a foundation rather than starting from zero
  • Compensation structure that rewards the role's impact, including a 20% annual bonus
  • Relocation paid for the right candidate
Ready to Apply?

If you've got deep MIM process expertise and you're ready to be the technical leader driving a new growth area rather than maintaining someone else's, we'd like to talk.
