Description
Assembly Manufacturing Engineer
Purpose: To develop and design assembly fixturing/tooling as assigned by the assembly manufacturing manager to control and improve the assembly processes. To review all new prints and revision changes so that accurate control plans, process flow charts, work instructions amd PFMEA's are available to ensure process control.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Ensure a safe work environment for self and others. Follows all safety rules and regulations. Demonstrate commitment to safety program.
  • Initiate APQP activities per our quality standards
  • Design and develop assembly test equipment and fixturing to meet engineering specifications
  • Develop manufacturing processes and procedures to ensure safety, quality, and efficiency
  • Monitor / verify engineering change orders and structure of the manufacturing bill of material
  • Establish and maintain methods for continuous process improvement on assigned product groups
  • Develop and maintain SPC data for process control as defined by customer
  • Develop standard work documents, control plans and process flow charts for all new products to be assembled within TEAM-Bagley
  • Organize cross-functional APQP meetings with all necessary people to complete and implement all aspects of the control plans, PFMEA, and the APQP process.
  • Coordinate CIP improvements and track cost savings
  • Identify PM schedules for test equipment and fixturing
  • Participate in cross-functional teams for new product development, continuation improvements, and cost reduction
  • Participate in assembly quoting to determine labor and fixturing costs
  • Demonstrate commitment to the TEAM Industries Quality Management system and Objectives
  • Promote a positive atmosphere. Actively support activities that promote the welfare and morale of TEAM employees.
  • Will be required to perform other duties as requested, directed or assigned

Requirements
Minimum Requirements:
Education & Experience:
  • 4 year degree in Manufacturing Technology, Engineering or related field
  • 3-5 years experience in assembly process development, line layout, fixture design, and manufacturing test equipment
  • Working experience with Lean Manufacturing principles
  • Working experience with Pro-Engineering, Product View, or 2-D AutoCad
  • Working experience with PLC's, Robotics/Automation, SPC, GR&R
  • Knowledge of manufacturing BOM management

Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Time management / organizational skills

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Products

Training:
  • Reference OJT

Physical Demands:
  • Ability to lift 30 pounds
  • Ability to stand for 90% of shift
  • Ability to do repetitive moves (i.e. bending, twisting)
