Process Engineer (Release Train Engineer) Mid-Level & Senior

Company:

Boeing Global Services (BGS) is seeking a Process Engineer (Release Train Engineer) Mid-Level & Senior to join the Government Training Engineering (GTE) team in Oklahoma City, OK. This position will focus on supporting engineering teams across the OKC Training Systems Agile Release Train, working with Scrum Masters, Product Owners, Product Managers and all stakeholders to ensure continuous delivery and improvement in the OKC GTE ART. The successful candidate will work directly with the engineering team and program management to help oversee the portfolio and drive towards performance to plan, in addition to execution according to schedule.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Provide guidance and support to ART in an agile environment to produce high-quality products
  • Assists with managing timelines, resolving problems, and coaching team members on agile methodologies
  • Assure the correct individuals on the ART own, mitigate, and communicate issues and risks
  • Escalate and track impediments & provide input on resourcing to address critical bottlenecks
  • Manage and optimize the flow of value through the ART and Solution Train using various tools
  • Assure managers have insight into project execution metrics and performance indicators by assisting with collecting, reporting, tracking, understanding, and taking action on metrics
  • Monitor data coherency for the ART and engage Product Managers, Scrum Masters, and Product Owners to maintain coherency, elevating to engineering leaders as appropriate
  • Establish and communicate the annual calendars for Planning Increments (PIs)
  • Facilitate the PI planning events and periodic synchronization meetings
  • Work with Product Management, Product Owners, and other stakeholders to help ensure strategy and execution alignment
  • Drive relentless improvement via Inspect and Adapt workshops; assess the agility level of the ART and help them improve
  • Help Scrum Masters protect team from undue interruptions (i.e. help team define and reinforce popup processes)
  • Work with other RTEs to drive to standard implementations of ART processes as appropriate

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement
  • Experience using a project management tool like Jira or other
  • 3+ years working with Scaled Agile Framework or Agile methodologies
  • 3+ years of experience working with cross-functional teams
  • 3+ years of experience leading a team or project

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • 5 or more years of higher education and/or related work experience (Higher education includes college, university, technical school, licensing/certification programs, etc.) (Level 4)
  • Experience in the aerospace industry or defense contracting industry
  • Experience as an RTE or Scrum Master for multiple teams in cross-functional organization
  • Experience leading teams in delivering quality products
  • Familiar with software development life cycle and hardware/software integration
  • Agile certification such as SAFe Program Consultant Certification
  • Demonstrated ability to facilitate large planning and solutioning sessions
  • Experience with project management in an engineering environment
  • Experience working in an Agile organization using Scrum, XP, Kanban, Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe), or other scaling models
