During your term, you will be exposed to all aspects of the aircraft modification process, including establishing customer and regulatory requirements, engineering data creation, manufacturing requirements, design verification, and customer support.You will also have the chance to gain hands-on experience through visits to our multiple hangars and the opportunity to interact with our manufacturing and maintenance staff who implement our modifications.Reporting The Mechanical Engineering - Co-op Student reports directly to the Director of Engineering. Day-to-day directions will be given by the Director of Engineering and/or designated engineering staff.Core CompetenciesStrong interpersonal skills and ability to work with multiple teams simultaneously.Strong computer drafting literacy with AutoCAD or SolidWorks; knowledge of both an asset.Computer productivity literacy with Microsoft Office, especially Microsoft Word and Excel.Critical thinking, problem solving, and mathematical reasoning.Key Performance Indicators / Duties & ResponsibilitiesUnder the guidance of the Director of Engineering and Structures Engineering department, assist with applying design principles to alterations for aircraft structure, systems, equipment, and furnishings.Build or revise CAD drawings to support design and manufacturing activities for aircraft.Produce, revise, or update detailed part, assembly and installation drawings for aircraft.Update or define manufacturing requirements or engineering procedures, including ensuring that project work is maintained in accordance with the company DAPM and Engineering Procedures Manual.Assist with continued airworthiness tasks and customer support for aircraft.Any other duties may be assigned from time to time by the Director of Engineering.QualificationsAdherence to company policies.Ability to follow direction and seek clarity when required.Demonstrate knowledge and capability growth over the course of the work term.
