Job description

Position Overview:

The Process Engineer plays a key role in optimizing, troubleshooting, and improving manufacturing operations within a chemical production environment. This role focuses on enhancing process efficiency, ensuring product quality, supporting safe operations, and driving continuous improvement initiatives across the plant.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead process improvement initiatives to increase throughput, reduce waste, improve yield, and enhance overall operational efficiency.
  • Analyze chemical manufacturing processes using datadriven methods to identify bottlenecks, variability, and opportunities for optimization.
  • Develop and maintain process documentation, including P&IDs, SOPs, process flow diagrams, and operating parameters.
  • Support daily plant operations, providing technical expertise to production teams and troubleshooting process issues in real time.
  • Conduct root cause analyses for process deviations, equipment failures, and quality concerns, implementing corrective and preventive actions.
  • Drive continuous improvement projects using Lean, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards, including OSHA, EPA, and internal company policies.
  • Collaborate with crossfunctional teams such as maintenance, quality, R&D, and EHS to support new product introductions and process changes.
  • Monitor key process metrics, develop dashboards, and recommend adjustments to maintain stable and efficient operations.
  • Evaluate and implement new technologies, equipment upgrades, and automation solutions to modernize plant capabilities.
  • Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, Industrial, or related field).
  • Experience in chemical manufacturing, batch or continuous processing, or related industrial environments.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills with proficiency in process modeling, statistical analysis, or data visualization tools.
  • Familiarity with process safety management (PSM), hazard analysis (HAZOP), Management of Change (MOC), PreStartup Safety Review (PSSR) and risk assessment methodologies.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively across departments.
