Job description

Delta's Pilot Learning team is seeking an individual who is passionate about project management and process improvement, particularly as it relates to the infrastructure and documentation that supports pilot training and development. This person will be involved in supporting a variety of project management and operational initiatives across the Flight Operations (Flight Ops) Learning ecosystem.

This role will support the coordination and documentation of projects that enable the Flight Ops Learning team and infrastructure. An understanding of project management methodologies, process improvement practices, stakeholder communication, and departmental documentation would be beneficial. Working across multiple concurrent initiatives, this position will assist in ensuring that project activities are tracked, communicated, and executed in alignment with the team strategy and project management ecosystem.

The successful candidate will coordinate and direct numerous project activities as defined by the Manager, Flight Ops Learning. Key focus areas of the role include:

  • Project Management ecosystem enhancement.
  • Department process documentation and continuous improvement.

The successful candidate will possess the ability to work in a team environment and:

  • Work directly with the Manager, Pilot Learning to coordinate and direct numerous project activities.
  • Take a hands-on approach to preparing and communicating project performance, cost updates, and status reports.
  • Manage and drive strategic and process-focused initiatives that support the Flight Operations Learning infrastructure.
  • Prepare and assist with project documentation and team documentation.
  • Identify action items, capture existing processes, and identify future process improvements.
  • Update and leverage project management tools to provide visibility of strategy, timelines, communication, and success metrics.
  • Support the creation of operational dashboards and roadmaps relevant to various levels of leadership and key stakeholders.
  • Gather feedback and propose process improvement recommendations for optimal project outcomes.
  • Attend project planning meetings and provide meeting notes when applicable.
