We are seeking a Process Engineer to join our team.
How will you play an integral role?
The Process Engineer provides plant-level research and development support to improve, optimize, and expand existing recycled PET (rPET) flake production processes and technologies. This role collaborates closely with cross-functional teams to identify operational improvement opportunities, support innovation initiatives, and implement process enhancements that improve plant performance, product quality, and cost efficiency. The Process Engineer ensures process improvements align with company objectives, safety standards, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices while supporting a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive knowledge of recycled PET (rPET) flake production processes, manufacturing equipment, and plant operating systems to support safe, efficient, and reliable operations.
  • Provide technical solutions that improve process performance, product quality, and manufacturing cost through structured experimentation, process optimization, and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Monitor production performance metrics and process capability to ensure operational targets are achieved on every production run; provide technical guidance and corrective actions when processes fall outside established standards.
  • Provide hands-on technical support to manufacturing, quality assurance, and downstream operations by investigating, troubleshooting, and resolving process and product-related issues.
  • Collaborate with production and technical personnel to identify operational challenges, recommend improvements, and implement sustainable process solutions.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with internal teams, customers, and vendors to support operational excellence and identify opportunities for innovation.
  • Support the commercialization of new product developments by transitioning laboratory and development projects into stable, scalable manufacturing processes.
  • Assist with the development and maintenance of process documentation, manufacturing standards, and operating procedures to ensure consistent execution across the operation.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives that enhance safety, efficiency, product quality, and operational performance.
  • Support technical evaluations and engineering projects related to recycled PET processing and emerging manufacturing technologies.

Are you qualified for the position?
Education
  • A four-year engineering or physical science degree is preferred, with a particular interest in mechanical engineering, chemical engineering, or textile engineering. Comparable engineering or process experience in a mechanical PET recycling facility, materials recovery facility (MRF), or recycled PET extrusion operation will also be considered.

Experience
  • Experience in recycled PET (rPET) flake production, product development, process improvement, or recycled PET extrusion is strongly preferred.
  • Previous leadership or project management experience in a manufacturing environment is desirable.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across departments and communicate professionally with all levels of the organization, customers, and vendors.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong written, verbal, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Demonstrated analytical, statistical, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Basic understanding of industrial control systems is preferred.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to learn new technologies and adapt in a dynamic manufacturing environment.
  • Willingness to travel up to 10% domestically between company facilities
