What You'll Do
As the Manager of Process R&D, you will lead a team responsible for researching, testing, and validating emerging manufacturing technologies that help customers improve productivity, quality, and performance. You will collaborate with universities, industry partners, tooling manufacturers, research organizations, and Makino teams around the world to advance machining science and bring innovative solutions to market.
Key responsibilities include:
Leading research, development, testing, and validation of new manufacturing technologies and machining processes
Managing engineers engaged in process development and technical research
Establishing rigorous testing methodologies and ensuring data is collected, analyzed, and documented accurately
Evaluating emerging technologies and identifying opportunities to leverage Makino machine capabilities
Presenting technical findings to customers, industry organizations, and professional forums
Building relationships with universities, government agencies, industry partners, and manufacturing leaders
Collaborating with tooling manufacturers, product development teams, and global Makino affiliates
Managing R&D budgets, project priorities, testing investments, and ROI evaluation
Overseeing patent opportunities, technical documentation, and knowledge management
Developing and mentoring engineering talent while fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement
What We're Looking For
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering or a related engineering discipline
