Job description

About the Role:
Responsible for the supervision of the SBA Business Develop Associate (BDA) team who support the SBA Business Development Officers (BDO's) by facilitating timely review and processing of new potential loan applications. Provides direction and development to the Business Development Associate.

  • Supervise the SBA Business Develop Associate team and partner with the SBA BDO's to ensure all loan items needed for submission of an application are obtained and the loan package is complete and accurate.

  • Manage workflow and work process of staff and ensuring compliance with bank and other applicable policies and procedures. Ensure all active loan applications are moving forward and current status is reported on the Pipeline Report.

  • Partner closely with the SBA Sales Manager and BDO's to ensure support of BDA's is driving toward results.

  • Analyze financial statements, tax returns and relevant data provided by a potential applicant and makes recommendations as to file status.

  • Develop a list of items needed to complete an assessment of the credit worthiness and SBA eligibility of the loan request.

  • Prepare submission Checklist, Workbook and Credit Memo summarizing the business and the request for credit.

  • Submit a complete and accurate loan application package to the credit center.

  • Oversee multiple transactions concurrently to ensure all active loan applications are moving forward and current status is reported on the Pipeline Report.

  • Demonstrates compliance with all bank regulations for assigned job function and applies to designated job responsibilities - knowledge may be gained through coursework and on-the-job training. Keeps up to date on regulation changes.

  • Follows all Bank policies and procedures, compliance regulations, and completes all required annual or job-specific training.

  • Maintain a working knowledge of Bank's written policies and procedures regarding Bank Secrecy Act, Regulation CC, Regulation E, Bank Security and other regulations as applicable to this job description.

  • May be asked to coach, mentor, or train others and teach coursework as subject matter expert.

  • Actively learns, demonstrates, and fosters the Columbia corporate culture in all actions and words.

About You:
Education

  • Bachelor's Degree in relevant field (preferred)


Experience

  • 7 years - of relevant banking and/or SBA loan documentation and credit analysis experience. (Preferred)

  • 2 years - relevant supervisory experience. (Required)


Skills

  • Ability to work effectively with individuals and groups across the company to manage internal and external customer expectations.

  • Proficient with personal computers and related software packages such as Word and Excel.

  • Possesses strong leadership, customer service and interpersonal skills.

  • Strong credit and credit quality skills including accounting, financial statement spreading, and cash flow analysis experience.

  • Advanced knowledge of SBA policy, procedures and requirements.

  • Possess excellent organization and problem-solving skills.

  • Advanced written and verbal communication skills.

The pay range for this role is $75,000.00 - $118,000.00

The pay rate for the selected candidate is dependent upon a variety of non-discriminatory factors including, but not limited to, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience, education, and geographic location. The role may be eligible for performance-based incentive compensation, and those details will be provided during the recruitment process.
