ATI is hiring a Manager - Process Controls & Automation Engineering to support our Specialty Rolled Products business unit. This role can be based in Washington or Monaca, PA.

In this role, you'll lead process controls and automation across multiple manufacturing sites in Pennsylvania and South Carolina, supporting operations such as annealing, pickling, grinding, flattening, shearing, and shipping.

You'll drive improvements in manufacturing performance by designing, implementing, integrating, and supporting automation and process control systems, including PLCs, DCS, HMI, and SCADA technologies.

The ideal candidate is a strong technical and people leader who can quickly learn complex operations, identify opportunities for efficiency and reliability improvements, and help shape the future vision for process automation across the business. You'll also lead and develop the PC&A team while partnering with senior leadership to support operational and business goals.

This role may also provide remote support to other facilities within the business unit.

Essential Functions

  • Analyze and troubleshoot challenges to appropriately recommend continuous improvement strategies and solutions.
  • Apply advanced engineering principles and process control strategies to improve operating efficiency of new and existing automation systems.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to implement process control models, strategies, and other methods for ensuring strong outputs, reliability and efficiencies.
  • Provide technical expertise in support of capital projects, process evaluation, and project modifications.
  • Assure process documentation is regularly developed and maintained.
  • Interface with multiple equipment suppliers to understand their equipment operation and control.
  • Perform appraisals of subordinate engineers and work toward their development.

Basic Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Engineering with exposure to Automation, Programming, and control systems theory
  • 8 years of electrical process controls, automation, or electrical controls and instrumentation experience in a manufacturing environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced degree in Engineering
  • Allen Bradley PLC Based Control Systems
  • Controls Systems PE or Electrical PE license
