The ideal candidate brings strong technical judgement, a practical approach to problem solving, and the ability to develop scalable, implementable, and maintainable machine control solutions.

  • Support capital equipment procurement projects from concept through production launch.

  • Partner with cross-functional teams in design, lean, quality, EHS, procurement, and operations to support new product introductions.

  • Provide control systems engineering support on multiple projects across a variety of applications including general automation, conveyance systems, packaging systems, customized fabrication equipment, plastics forming and piercing automation, and related processes.

  • Review equipment supplier hardware and software designs and ensure compliance with internal standards.

  • Provide input to GE Appliances standards updates.

  • Prioritize safety by working with EHS teams to ensure all processes and equipment protect the health and well-being of our people.

  • Collaborate with automation and robotics engineers to implement innovative, cost-effective solutions.

  • Support factory teams in implementing, troubleshooting, and continuously improving new systems and equipment.

What You'll Bring to Our Team

Required:

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering or related discipline OR equivalent hands-on experience intechnical/manufacturingdisciplines.

  • 5+ years of hands-on, relevant controls engineering experience with automated manufacturing equipment and processes.

  • Experience with Rockwell AutomationControlLogix/CompactLogixhardware & software, Studio 5000, FactoryTalk View.

  • Knowledge and practice of machine safety (ISO 13849, ANSI/A3 R15.06).

Preferred:

  • Ability to work in large cross-functional teams and at multiple levels in the organization (both salaried and shop floor operators / skilled trades team members).

  • Good communication skills - will be expected to provide project status updates to cross-functional teams.

  • Demonstrated ability to solve complex automation and controls challenges.

  • Automation integration experience.

  • Proficient in MS Office and AutoCAD.

  • Experience in a large-scale manufacturing environment and capital equipment procurement.

  • Skilled knowledge of controls software (Rockwell, Emerson, Siemens) and coding structure for ladder logic. Experience with other controls programming languages such as structured text, and function blocks diagram is beneficial.

  • TUV Certification in Machine Safety.

Work Environment:

  • This position is primarily based in Louisville, KY, but may require travel to other locations as needed.

  • The primary work schedule is the 1st shift; however, occasional support during weekends and off shifts may be required based on project needs.

  • Travel (domestic and international) may be required in accordance with project requirements (25% of time).
