Cleveland-Cliffs Steel has an immediate opportunity for Process Coordinator Maintenance at our Burns Harbor, Indiana operation. The Process Coordinator will provide technical expertise for Air, Gas and Water, plant instrumentation and control systems and be accountable for the safe and reliable operation and maintenance of control equipment at the Cleveland-Cliffs Burns Harbor plant AGW utility systems.


Summary of Responsibilities:

  • Implement, monitor, schedule and record required safety contacts, programs, and training.
  • Monitor and maintain the high housekeeping standard throughout the shop.
  • Responsible for assigning work, keeping attendance records, and completing weekly work schedules.
  • Interact with operating departments to prioritize and schedule the required work to support their operations.
  • Supervise hourly workforce.
  • Work with AGW (MTE) bargaining unit team members to ensure that the AGW and plant utility systems are functioning properly and efficiently.
  • Identify needed maintenance repairs.
  • Write and utilize standard procedure documents.
  • Assists with locking out equipment for maintenance repairs, and planned repair outages.
  • Maintain and monitor shop equipment in working order, including repairs, and scheduled preventive maintenance.
  • Manage the business unit related to quality, cost, and safety goals.
  • Prepare for and work with auditors during safety and environmental audits as scheduled.
  • Prepare monthly reports onbusiness metrics,safety, environmental and work performance.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Associate's degree in engineering from an accredited educational institution.
  • 3 years' experience within a heavy industrial production related field.
  • Knowledge of industrial instrumentation and control schemes, including PLC's.
  • Working knowledge of electronic systems including camera systems, radios and radio frequencies, and scales.
  • Proficiency in computer software programs such as Microsoft Office, with ability to learn role specific software.
  • Applicants for this position must be currently legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree from a from an accredited educational institutionin atechnical field or five years industrial management experience.
  • Experience working with a unionized workforce.
  • Knowledge of integrated steel mill facilities.
  • Understanding of safety and health policies including key components of OSHA regulations.
  • Working knowledge with Allen Bradley PLC's and network protocols.
