We're building a winning culture that’s all about teamwork, passion, and innovation. At Arrow, you’re not just another employee, you’re part of a high-performing team that’s redefining fun and giving back to communities. If you're looking for a career that’s exciting, meaningful, and full of opportunity, Arrow is the place to be.

Arrow International is seeking an Automation & Controls Engineer to expand controls and automation execution capacity across our print and converting operations.

As process improvement opportunities are identified and current pull tab throughput projects continue to mature, the automation project backlog is expected to exceed one engineer’s capacity. This role will provide focused execution bandwidth and help move automation projects from concept through implementation.

This position will work closely with Process Engineering, Controls Engineering, Production, Maintenance, and Operations to support automation implementation, controls integration, equipment improvements, and production efficiency projects across print, die cutting, converting, and related manufacturing lines.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Program, troubleshoot, and support PLC systems, with Allen-Bradley experience preferred.
  • Develop and support HMI applications for production equipment and operator interfaces.
  • Support controls integration on print, converting, die cutting, collating, finishing, and related production lines.
  • Integrate industrial vision systems for inline inspection, quality checks, and serialization verification.
  • Support integration of commercial inkjet, laser, and variable data printing systems into production workflows.
  • Support robotics programming and automation projects tied to labor reduction, throughput improvement, quality, and repeatability.
  • Develop, update, and maintain electrical documentation, panel designs, wiring standards, and controls-related documentation.
  • Partner with Process Engineering on automation implementation for identified improvement projects.
  • Partner with Controls Engineering on controls integration for process improvements.
  • Work with Maintenance and Production teams to troubleshoot controls issues and support production uptime.
  • Assist with equipment upgrades, process improvements, and new automation installations.
  • Help standardize controls practices, documentation, and repeatable solutions across production areas.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
  • B.S. in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, Automation Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • 3–5 years of PLC programming experience, with Allen-Bradley preferred.
  • Experience with HMI development and controls integration in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
  • Experience supporting production equipment, automation projects, or manufacturing process improvements.
  • Experience with industrial vision systems such as Cognex or Keyence is a strong plus.
  • Familiarity with inkjet coding, laser coding, serialization, or variable data printing integration is highly desirable.
  • Robotics programming experience preferred.
  • Ability to read, develop, and maintain electrical drawings, wiring diagrams, panel layouts, and controls documentation.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to support equipment and controls issues on the production floor.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to work across Engineering, Maintenance, Production, and Operations.
  • Comfortable balancing project work with hands-on production support as needed.
