Role Description The Family Planning Proceduralist will provide pregnancy options counselling, surgical abortions, ultrasound for dating and patient-centered family planning services, including counseling, evaluation, and performance of indicated procedures and other reproductive health interventions. Day-to-day responsibilities include perfirming abortion procedures and postprocedure care. The proceduralist will collaborate with physicians, nurses, social workers, and other team members to ensure coordinated care. This is a sessional, on-site role based at Metropolitan Hospital in New York, NY.

Qualifications

  • Clinical expertise in family planning, including pregnancy options counselling and performing surgical abortiins and counseling on contraceptive options and performing relevant procedures (e.g., IUD and implant insertion/removal, pregnancy options counseling).
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for working with diverse patients, explaining complex information clearly, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Commitment to patient-centered, nonjudgmental care, with sensitivity to cultural, religious, and personal values related to reproductive health.
  • Experience working in hospital or clinic settings, with familiarity in electronic medical records and standard clinical documentation practices.
  • Relevant professional licensure and certification required for performing family planning procedures in New York State (e.g., physician, advanced practice provider), in good standing.
