Description
Job Duties:
Service Delivery Expectations:
1. Maintains client confidentiality at all times.
2. Provides nursing assessments in compliance with DMH standards and within the scope of Mississippi Nursing Practice Acts and Rules and Regulations.
3. Evaluates client's response to medications i.e. effectiveness and/or side effects and documents appropriately.
4. Administers medication injections as prescribed by physician and follows all other physicians orders.
5. Monitors clients' belongings for items of safety concern and/or contraband. Removes any unsafe or inappropriate items and reports removal to the program supervisor.
6. Remains awake and alert at all times to provide supervision of clients and to provide assistance when needed.
Documentation and Quality Improvement:
7. Documents appropriate activities in case note format that justify the need for treatment.
8. Completes and submits service logs per agency policy.
9. Maintains case record documentation that is adequate, appropriate, complete, and timely.
10. Identifies and reports to supervisor in a timely manner any safety concern or any unusual incidents in the work environment.
11. Assists in monitoring the physical environment of the facility ensuring the cleanliness and safety of the environment at all times.
Interpersonal and Leadership Skills:
12. Attends and participates appropriately in clinical staffings as requested.
13. Responds to clients' needs in an appropriate and timely manner.
14. Demonstrates appropriate interactions with coworkers that promote a pleasant work environment.
15. Participates as a team member to provide a nurturing and consistent therapeutic treatment environment.
16. Develops a rapport with individuals and cultivates a safe and supportive relationship.
Support Duties:
17. Completes additional job duties assigned by supervisor.
18. Maintains licensure and seeks professional clinical training opportunities.
19. Participates in interagency collaboration for the provision of client services.
Key Responsibilities
Requires Mississippi licensure as a registered nurse.
Requires excellent time management, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
Requires current CPR status at all times.
Requires completion of CPI within the first 30 days of employment.
Requires valid driver's license and auto liability insurance.
Requires thorough knowledge of psychotropic medications' indications for use and side
effects.
Requires completion of annual training in compliance with DMH standards.
