Private School Security Supervisor - Nashville

Serva Security

Nashville, TN โ€ข On-site

$30 - $37/hr

Full-time, Part-time

Posted 5 days ago

Job description

Description:

Job Summary:

Serva, in partnership with our client, is seeking an experienced security supervisor to lead our team of six officers (three full-time, three part-time) at a highly visible private school and serve as the primary on-site point of contact for campus leadership. This role carries the trust Serva has built with the client. You are not just managing a shift; you are the standard-bearer for how our services reflect this school's culture, values, and daily rhythms.

The right candidate has already proven themselves as a strong individual performer and is ready to take ownership of a team's performance, morale, and growth. You'll spend real time on campus, walking the grounds, checking in with your officers, and staying visible to faculty, staff, and families, while also carrying the responsibilities that come with leading people: scheduling, coaching, incident response oversight, and being the person your officers and your client both know they can count on.

Success in this role means two things happening at once: your team consistently delivers security that fits seamlessly into the school's environment, and your officers are growing in skill, confidence, and understanding of what it means to represent Serva well. You lead by being present, by solving problems before they escalate, and by investing in the people on your team so they can do their best work.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and support a team of armed officers, including scheduling, shift coverage, and day-to-day performance management
  • Serve as the primary liaison between the security team and school administration, maintaining open, proactive communication
  • Conduct regular campus walk-throughs to stay visible, check in on coverage, and support your officers in real time
  • Respond to and help manage security incidents, ensuring proper documentation, follow-up, and communication with the client
  • Coach and develop officers through on-the-job mentoring, feedback, and identifying growth opportunities within Serva
  • Help the team stay aligned with the client's culture and day-to-day expectations
  • Bring operational or security concerns to Serva leadership with clear, practical recommendations
  • Balance a strong security presence with the approachability that works well in a school environment
  • Assist with onboarding and training of new officers assigned to the site
Requirements:

Qualifications:

  • Prior experience in a security supervisory or lead role; school or similar relationship-driven environments are a plus
  • Ability to lead a team, including part-time staff, as a clear communicator who is fair, consistent, and supportive of others' growth
  • Good problem-solving instincts and sound judgment
  • Comfortable working within a school community and respectful of its culture and expectations
  • Professional and personable, with the ability to build good relationships with students, faculty, staff, and visitors
  • Reliable and organized, able to manage administrative tasks (scheduling, incident reports, client communication) alongside regular time in the field
  • Tennessee Armed Guard license.

Bonus for:

  • Prior law enforcement or military experience.
  • TN Active Shooter Certified.
  • Red Cross CPR, AED, First Aid Certification.

This is a full-time position, Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., full calendar year.
