Job Title: School Security Officer (Middle & High School Campuses)

Schedule: Monday โ€“ Friday (Follows School Calendar)
Pay Rate: $19.50 โ€“ $20.00 per hour
Benefits: Health, Dental, Vision, 401(k), Life Insurance

Position Overview:

Code 4 Private Security is seeking dedicated and professional School Security Officers for middle and high school locations. Our officers play a crucial role in ensuring a safe and secure environment for students, staff, and visitors.

This is an excellent opportunity for security professionals who are passionate about working with youth and contributing to a safe educational community.


Job Duties:
  • Monitor and patrol school grounds to ensure safety and security

  • Provide crossing guard services as assigned to ensure safe student pedestrian traffic

  • Maintain a visible security presence and proactively deter incidents

  • Respond to emergencies and assist school staff as needed

  • Enforce school rules and Code of Conduct

  • Write clear and detailed daily activity and incident reports

  • Perform bag checks or screening procedures when required

  • Engage with students, staff, and visitors in a professional and respectful manner

  • Observe and report any safety hazards, suspicious activity, or policy violations

  • Assist with controlling access to campus and monitoring visitor check-ins

  • Some sites may require armed security services (must be properly certified)


Requirements:

โœ… Valid California Guard Card
โœ… Certificates required to keep Guard Card in compliance (e.g., BSIS training certificates)
โœ… Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test
โœ… Ability to pass a criminal background check
โœ… TB test clearance
โœ… Strong written and verbal communication skills
โœ… Strong work ethic, responsibility, and punctuality
โœ… Professional appearance and demeanor
โœ… Ability to stand, walk, and perform patrols for extended periods
โœ… Flexibility to work at various school sites as assigned

โœ… SB1626 School Security Training (Can be provided if you do not possess one)


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Prior experience working in a school security environment

  • Experience as a crossing guard, patrol officer, or armed guard

  • Bilingual skills a plus

School-specific training will be provided.
