About the Role:

The School Security Guard plays a critical role in maintaining a safe and secure environment for students, staff, and visitors within the school premises. This position involves vigilant monitoring of school grounds, entrances, and common areas to prevent unauthorized access and ensure compliance with safety protocols. The guard will respond promptly to any incidents or emergencies, coordinating with school administration and local law enforcement as necessary. By fostering a visible security presence, the role helps to deter potential threats and promote a sense of safety and well-being throughout the school community. Ultimately, the School Security Guard contributes to creating a supportive atmosphere conducive to learning and personal development.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid security guard license or certification as required by the state.
  • Powe to arrest and appropriate use of force
  • SB 1626 School Security Officer Training Certificate
    • (If you do not currently possess the SB 1626 certificate, training may be provided for qualified candidates.)
  • Basic knowledge of emergency response procedures and first aid.
  • Current TB Test Clearance
  • Ability to pass background checks and drug screenings.
  • Strong observational skills and physical fitness to perform patrol duties.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in school security or a related security role.
  • Training in conflict resolution and de-escalation techniques.
  • CPR and First Aid certification.
  • Familiarity with local laws and regulations related to school safety.
  • Excellent communication skills for interacting with students, staff, and visitors.
