Job description

Finatal is partnering with a private equity sponsor to appoint a Chief Financial Officer for a new buy-and-build construction & engineering services platform.

Since launching earlier this year, the PE sponsor has completed multiple acquisitions with plans for continued investment over the coming years. This is an opportunity for a proven private equity CFO to step into a rapidly scaling construction & engineering services business and partner closely with the PE sponsor and management team to build the financial foundation required to support accelerated growth, integration, and transaction readiness.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build, scale, and professionalize the finance function to support a rapidly growing, acquisition-driven new PE platform
  • Lead financial planning, forecasting, and controls, bringing rigor and discipline to a PE-backed operating environment
  • Establish scalable systems, reporting, and processes to support rapid growth, acquisition integration, and transaction readiness
  • Own the financial execution of M&A, including diligence support, deal modeling, integration, and post-acquisition performance tracking. Forge relationships with business owners / sellers.
  • Manage working capital, liquidity, and cash flow in a project-based services environment utilizing POC accounting
  • Partner closely with the CEO and private equity sponsor on value creation initiatives, capital allocation, and exit preparation
  • Lead ERP selection and implementation as the platform continues to scale and integrate acquisitions

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a CFO in a private equity-backed business, ideally within a buy-and-build environment
  • Construction / engineering services experience strongly preferred; project-based, blue-collar services experience will also be considered
  • Experience with POC accounting, WIP reporting, and project-based business models
  • Demonstrated track record of building and scaling finance functions in growing, M&A-driven businesses
  • Experience working closely with private equity sponsors through growth and exit cycles
  • Comfortable with regular travel to HQ in central Florida and throughout the Southeast to visit existing sites and new potential acquisitions
