Job description

Savan is seeking a Privacy Subject Matter Expert (SME) to provide strategic leadership and technical expertise supporting enterprise federal privacy programs. This senior consulting role serves as a trusted advisor to executive leadership while overseeing complex privacy initiatives, managing project teams, and supporting business growth. The Privacy SME plays a key role in ensuring successful program delivery while strengthening client relationships and supporting Savan's continued growth in the federal privacy market.
Responsibilities
  • Provide strategic privacy guidance to senior government stakeholders.
  • Lead enterprise privacy compliance efforts across multiple programs and systems.
  • Oversee development and quality review of:
    • Privacy Threshold Analyses (PTAs)
    • Privacy Impact Assessments (PIAs)
    • System of Records Notices (SORNs)
    • Information Sharing Agreements (ISAs)
    • Paperwork Reduction Act (PRA) documentation
  • Lead privacy risk assessments and compliance strategies.
  • Develop privacy governance processes, policies, and best practices.
  • Build and maintain trusted relationships with executive government stakeholders.
  • Lead project teams by assigning work, mentoring staff, reviewing deliverables, and ensuring successful execution.
  • Support project planning, staffing, resource forecasting, and overall program delivery.
  • Present findings, recommendations, and executive briefings to client leadership.
  • Identify opportunities to improve client operations and expand existing work.
  • Support capture efforts, proposal development, staffing strategies, technical solutioning, and client presentations.
  • Stay current on evolving federal privacy regulations, emerging technologies, and industry best practices.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • 8+ years of experience supporting federal privacy programs.
  • 8+ years applying the Privacy Act, E-Government Act, FISMA, and related federal privacy requirements.
  • Experience leading enterprise privacy compliance initiatives.
  • Experience managing client relationships and executive stakeholders.
  • Experience leading consulting teams and mentoring staff.
  • Strong analytical, communication, leadership, and presentation skills.
  • U.S. Citizenship.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP).
  • Advanced degree (J.D., Master's, or equivalent).
  • Experience supporting FEMA, DHS, or other federal civilian agencies.
  • Experience implementing Privacy by Design.
  • Experience supporting business development, proposal writing, and capture efforts.
  • Knowledge of emerging privacy technologies, AI governance, and evolving federal privacy regulations.

Compensation
The anticipated salary range for this position is $120K-$145K. This range represents Savan Group's good faith estimate at the time of posting and is not a guarantee of compensation.
Final compensation will be determined based on factors including relevant experience, skills, education, certifications, internal equity, market conditions, and geographic location. For positions supporting federal contracts, compensation may also be subject to applicable labor category requirements, contract terms, funding, and other contract-specific provisions. As a result, actual compensation may vary from the posted salary range.
