Job description

Amazon's Privacy Legal team is seeking a talented attorney with privacy experience to advise on policies and practices for the collection, storage, and use of personal information across all of Amazon's business lines in the United States and internationally.
As a subject-matter expert on the Central Privacy Legal team, you'll help chart the company's long-term strategy for handling customer information across retail operations, online advertising, electronic devices, and other business areas. You'll work directly with teams building privacy compliance infrastructure for Amazon and its subsidiaries, while partnering closely with our public policy, public relations, and business teams.
Key job responsibilities
- Advise business leaders and legal teams on all aspects of global privacy laws and regulations, including GDPR, CCPA, and emerging data protection requirements
- Counsel on privacy compliance for new product development and service launches across multiple business lines
- Partner with cross-functional teams to implement privacy-by-design principles and data governance frameworks
- Support the development and implementation of privacy policies and practices that balance innovation with customer trust
- Collaborate with public policy and communications teams to explain our privacy practices to regulators and customers
- Provide strategic guidance on evolving data protection regulations and their impact on business operations

The role offers opportunities to think creatively about privacy solutions that enable innovation while protecting customer trust, and to engage with external stakeholders including regulators and industry groups.
About the team
