Job Responsibilities:
Summary of Responsibilities
Coordinates activities of tool design to facilitate production or procurement of tooling. Determines the most effective manufacturing process while sustaining the most efficient cost. Prepares the initial specification of tooling for specific programs and/or products. Coordinates tuning of tooling for fit and function.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Design and detail of Machinery, Tool Dies, New Equipment and modifications/improvements to existing equipment as required for the plant
• Tooling & die modifications and designs for engineering changes
• Tooling & Die design review and buyoff with die shops as per agreed timelines
• Buy off Tooling & Die process with die shops
• Obtain and understand tooling quoting
• All information/documents related to tooling & die process/build/buyoff correctly stored in project server in correct location
• Organize, maintain and update Tooling & Die data
• Monitor progress with tooling & die shops and communicate to internal resources
• Follow escalation protocol and any deviations from agreed timelines
• Support and manage tool & die shops on any and all timing issues - create action plans and follow up on agreed action plans and timing
• Review at tooling & die shops (travel required)
• Direct and monitor tooling & die shops on actions created from review
• Responsible for commissioning and productionizing of tooling & dies with tooling team and die shops
• Participate in Continual Improvement activities
Must have an Engineering degree to be considered.
