Job Description Summary

The Senior Data Engineer is a key member of the Enterprise Data Privacy & Protection team, responsible for designing, developing, and supporting technology solutions that enable enterprise-wide data discovery, privacy compliance, and data protection. This role focuses heavily on building scalable data discovery and masking solutions utilizing OneTrust Enterprise Data Discovery (EDD), Informatica Data Privacy Management (DPM), and Informatica Test Data Management (TDM).
The ideal candidate combines strong technical engineering expertise with an understanding of privacy regulations and data governance, and can independently solve complex problems while collaborating effectively across teams.

Job Description

This position will follow our hybrid work model, we expect the selected candidate to be in office 2-3 days a week(10-12 days a month ) at the following office location: St. Petersburg, FL.

Responsibilities:

Data Discovery & Classification

  • Discover, classify, and inventory sensitive data (PII, PHI, PCI, confidential data) across enterprise systems using OneTrust Enterprise Data Discovery (EDD) and Informatica DPM.

  • Configure and manage EDD and DPM scan jobs, including connector setup for structured and unstructured databases, file repositories, and cloud environments.

  • Develop and fine-tune data classification rules, regular expressions, metadata patterns, and validation logic to enhance scan accuracy.

  • Analyze and curate discovery results to reduce false positives and drive high-confidence classification outcomes.

  • Data Protection & Masking

  • Support ongoing data protection operations and remediation activities using Informatica TDM.

  • Build and maintain TDM masking packages, and update masking rules per business and regulatory requirements.

  • Integrate outputs from OneTrust EDD into TDM processes and other data protection workflows.

  • Automate TDM job execution using Control-M or equivalent enterprise scheduling platforms.


Engineering & Platform Support

  • Design and maintain ETL workflows using Informatica PowerCenter to support data inventory management and privacy-related data processing.

  • Develop integrations between OneTrust EDD, ServiceNow, metadata repositories, and other enterprise systems.

  • Provide hands-on engineering support for SQL Server and Oracle environments.

  • Participate in rotational on-call support for data masking and privacy operations.

Collaboration & Leadership

  • Work independently with minimal supervision and provide mentorship to junior engineers.

  • Engage with technical and business stakeholders to translate privacy requirements into actionable engineering solutions.

  • Document processes, configurations, and best practices to support operational excellence.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, MIS, or related field, or equivalent experience.

  • 5-10 years of experience in data engineering, data privacy engineering, or related technical roles.

Strong hands-on expertise with:

  • OneTrust Enterprise Data Discovery (EDD)

  • Informatica DPM, Informatica TDM, Informatica PowerCenter

  • SQL, T-SQL, and Oracle database engineering

  • Control-M or similar job scheduling tools

  • Python programming experience; familiarity with ML libraries for automated data discovery is a significant plus.

  • Strong understanding of privacy regulations including GDPR and CCPA/CPRA.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and proven stakeholder management experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Python or R scripting.
